The color inside the jar represents the emotions and happiness we have inside ourselves, bottled away against the dull darkness of the outside world.

to me, it feels like :
Humans are not made to live in a big city ; we sometimes feel suffocating in those concrete boxes, dreaming about a small eldorado of nature.
but that's only my personal view

I think this is sad. Like, something so majestic and wild trapped in a little bitty jar in a dirty city.

hah. i take it as the "preservation" of the wilderness and how oh so successful we are in our "attempts." that tiny space is what the world started off as in its entirety, but we've build over so much of it, we might as well keep what we have left in little glass jars.
it's also irony how the zoo cages wilderness when wilderness is supposed to be free and wild. instead, industrialization has run rampant while we cage up nature.
kinda reminds me of how little kids catch grasshoppers, frogs and salamanders in jars. you know, the more i think about this piece, the more amazing it is.

and that's what any form of art is. you start out with an implied meaning then people bend and shift the work to make it personally relate. there's always another meaning for each viewer. there are countless meanings to each piece. that's why people enjoy viewing art as well as reading poetry. ^_^

In the concrete jungle, it's good to have a little bit of real jungle with you at all times. This makes me think of how in this day in age nothing seems truly impossible to possess, everything can be shrink-wrapped and hand-delivered.

It makes me think of that saying, "an elephant in the living room" so to me, it's saying that there's something you like to discuss that most people don't (since the title is 'this is mine') and yeag.. altogether I love it.

WOW! Its very urban, and what i think of when i see it, is that the humans of the world seek to keep the wid beasts locked up for all to see while living in a world of high rise comfort. Its gorgeous, definitely one of my favorites
