I feel immersed, as if I'm wearing goggles too take in this sight. its got a glass tank look to it.
Terrific use of blue and green shades as well as the sky. You've definitely got a hold on your use of texture that makes me absolutely excited to see more of your work.
What I'd like to see differently maybe is the waves bigger as crashing onto the boat. Maybe a more prominent fishing net? It took me a bit longer than it probably should have to notice those. Also the second net at the bottom corner is of the same boat or a second ship? Its a bit confusing to see that there. But I could be the only one questioning its origin. Its pretty far out to sea.

Very vicious scene. The animal truly dominates the scene purely because of it's placement. The scene's vibrant tropical lighting works really well with the clear water. The cruel design of the beast, pitted as he is, gives him a deep nature. He's not squeaky clean.
