Hey. I wanna make an ESBD OC so I'll just send a note to clarify the rules to prevent any ESBD Mary-Sues.

I'd like to say I agree, but I'm not as heavily into anime fan stuff to get some of the references - for example "shipping" what does that mean? Shipping for me is transporting cargo, but I'm guessing that isn't what you were getting at. What I do agree with wholeheartedly is that telling people they shouldn't create fan art, just because they aren't a good artist or don't have quality ideas is crass and elitist. All artists have to start somewhere and as you say mimicry is a compliment.
I'd love to ban hate stamps altogether, not that they are ALL bad, but they encourage trollish behaviour and we just don't need any more of that here.

'Shipping' is when you pair two characters up romantically. I personally don't like any shipping not supported by the canon (of whatever) but then I just won't look at it... I don't think people should be stopped from having fun just because it's not something I find fun personally.

Nice.
It's all about artistic freedom and getting constructive criticism. Destructive criticism almost never helps and only demotivates people to improve on their skills, interests and general artistic know-how. Also, you need to develop a thick skin to be able not to be heavy influenced by negative comments.

Exactly. I've seen a few comments around just this week that said something like 'I'm scared to post my work on X, because people might say it's bad' and on the one hand, well if the criticism is fair, then there is no harm in listening, if it's unfair then just ignore it... but even if it's fair if you find something fun... I think you should just do it, so long as you aren't hurting anybody.

Yep. That's why I find groups with only one contribution per week very interesting. People only present works, in such groups, which they are proud of. Over there it's not all about getting exposure, but also about getting tips on improving, if given.
It's however not all fun and games, since quite some people want to be a professional artist, or are already professionals. Then again, if you want to be a pro, you have to develop some capacities to endure critics. I think it's a challenge, but it also makes you stronger and wiser in the end.

i assume this was what you were referring to?
I can make an OC for your world? COOOOL!!!!
In that case you can do the same for mine. Onre thing though, Konniechora, Tammitara, Meegon, Tomidra, Ursula are all that's left of the Usagis (Areo doesn't count as he is a PC and his father doesn't exist in the ECs, if I write a story about him then that is set in a RP world) so there will be NO Usagi OCs thank you very much...i.e NO "I am Konniechora's cousin, I am here to kill elfin s and take Eticon". AND NO PUTTING OC WITH KONNIECHORA AND MATIZ AND URSULA AND TOMYDRA!! They're pretty much set.

Ha ha, I never make canon-related fcs anyway. Not looking to at the moment since I have my hands full with characters as it is, but you never know...

Yes but just in case. NO USAGIS! They can be Elf.
How I name a character....the first name means something in Eticohuan (EG: Meegon translates as 'Bladed Angel') then their middle name has to be that from greek myth then a Japanese or odd sounding surname. A preliminary name for the Usagis was Hitso.

I've seen a lot of anti-fan character and anti-shipping stuff is all...never 'all of fanart' or 'all of fanfiction' but if you're gonna be against some then you may as well be against all, imo. The idea that you shouldn't be allowed to mess about in your fandom how you want irks me is all. I just wanted to make a point that even though this stuff might make me cringe sometimes, I seriously don't care if people want to do it...

Ha ha, I'm not that mad, I just saw a stamp that really got to me, and this was a fun way to state my opinion XD

Haha, I dunno maybe I have a fandom of about 3 people if I'm being optimistic ^-^; I was more aiming this at fandom snobbery in general. I'm sick I'm seeing anti- stamps everywhere. I make fcs which some people hate, but then some people hate shipping, and I dislike it myself, but I really don't care if people do it as long as they don't shove it in my face. I just wish people would be more tolerant.
So I wanted to use my own characters as an example.

Ha ha, sometimes I feel that way. 'Hey it's my bestest childhood pal who hangs out with us all the time who I have never actually seen in my life'. Lol, like Yousuke from GX... hurr.
