I've always wanted to do a tarot deck, but the prospect of all those cards is just so daunting....So I figured a new approach to it. Instead of telling myself I was doing a deck and then setting out on the project, I'll instead take the cards one at a time and use the meanings of the cards as a general guideline for the non-commission pieces I do for the forseeable future. Doing pieces with whatever idea I want, but fitting to a tarot deck meaning. Dunno if that sounds like a difference to anyone else, but it feels very different for me when I approach a piece.
Anyway, here's a sketch for #1. The Fool.

God, this is lovely! The airiness and sense of freedom is a good choice for the fool. And the precarious position... perhaps... for the inverse meaning?
But I love anything well-done with the tarot.

I did the Rune once.. made them into cards as a visual aid for me to memorize them.. want to do them again, but better.. daunting yessss!
please keep going and please do the sun soon! ( I did my own suncard recently, a photo manip with a very deeeeeep meaning to me personally. It's in my gallery)

She is leaning against the ribbons held back only by the small birds and about to tumble off the edge of the precipice.

I believe it's 78 cards. 4 suits of 14 cards each for the minor arcana, and then 22 major arcana. Yeah, it'll take me years.
