No, I'm not kidding. When the videos of a farm in Boxtel, the Netherlands, were released, showing crippled, injured, dying baby animals and their mothers all over the place, and even many illegal offenses (as if the legal cruelty wasn't already bad enough),many people responded "poor FARMER" and defended the animal abuser who forced these poor babies to "live" like this because "by exposing him abusing animals the activists have damaged his reputation".I was like: "Bitches, are you for real?!"
I mean, what's next? Will they go "poor puppy mill breeder" when an undercover video of a puppy mill is leaked as well?
I'm going to put this simple: if you don't want your reputation ruined by killing and abusing animals, just DON'T. ABUSE. OR. KILL. THEM. It's not rocket science. If you oppress innocents, people are going to stand up for them. That's just how it is. That's why you have your rights today in the first place. It didn't just pop up out of nowhere.

Responses like that, where people pity the abuser for having their abuse exposed, instead of feeling horror and outrage at the abuse itself... I get like a flippin' blue screen error every time. If they see something that blatantly awful and arrive to such a back-asswards conclusion, what do we even do? I mean I guess it's no wonder we're destroying the planet's current ecosystems if the vast majority of us have that attitude, but some dumb wide-eyed part of me still stubbornly thinks "No, this is just a bad dream. We're better than that. We have to be. We kiss our own asses about how intelligent and compassionate we are all the time. Surely that's not just a cruel irony in the cosmic joke that is our existence?"
If there is extra-terrestrial life, and if we ever do meet them, I'm gonna be so embarrassed. Like "Yeah, I don't know them. I'm not being cute - I mean that. I really don't get their priorities. Please, can I bum a ride?"

Indeed, that's what happens when your driven by personal satisfaction. The victims deserve the happiness, not their oppressors. Personally, if I could trade my sanity and body for all of their's I would.
Are you familiar with the crime tv show Criminal Minds? Focuses on the BAU that profiles serial murderers and determines their personality and motive. The things that they do to people are seriously sociopathic and sick, but then I realized that the majority of them are things we literally do to animals legally and normally and can't make the connection(examples include torturous drowning, cult sacrafices, experimentation, rage produced cruelty, ect). Several episodes involve animal cruelty, including one onscreen chicken sacrifice when the team was investigating ritualistic human beheading, and they didn't seem concerned. Then there were others including surgical experimentation on animals, later on humans, euthenizing cats, and hunting for sport. Two criminals did that on humans and only then the police got involved. One member of the team had to shoot dogs in self defense and that was the only time during the field she felt sorry.
The team's technical analyst however actually loves animals, except insects, and is vegetarian

The other day I stumbled upon a youtube video of someone filming an impaled pig roasting over a fire. One comment read:
"I hear the vegans crying, it fills me with so much joy"
It's a wonder to take pleasure from the grief of the people who care let alone the animal suffering in some cult ritual style of carnism.

To inflict pain on animals is considerably worse than on humans, because they have no quarrel with our affairs and can't rationalize pain, not to mention the types of torture we condemn and the variety of victims. We overhunted several species to extinction and slaughter/vivisection/inseminate so many more every year, all those lives reduced to corpses and ash for personal desires and satisfaction. I would say the worse types are child cruelty to animals and needless extermination of insects, because of victim count. Animal experimentation and factory farming are the most painful ones. Humans are more sapient and can brace themselves for pain, not animals. Nature has way too much tolerance for our sins. I think we should be grateful that mother Earth isn't sentient or she would be heavily tempted to strike us down.
