Fellas, is it weird to make a OC for one of your close friend's original series?
Did it anyways lol

So, this has been a character that's been floating around my head for a while. For those who don't know, my friend has been making an original series called "Sweet Delight"; a series about sweet themed characters using magical objects with bells to fight evil. In this series, there are two particular characters in the show that have my attention; Reginald Von Sour for obvious reasons, and then there's Hugo. A selfish man that was cursed into a monster as a permeant punishment. I kinda helped out with Hugo a bit as I kinda gave Cherry the idea to give him the head canon voice of Luke Evans (aka my main christmas hubby Ebenezer Scrooge from "Scrooge: A Christmas Carol 2022", who Cherry also has a crush on lol). And so I have a little bit of a bias towards him due to this.
And naturally, that led me to seeing various comments from people (not mentioning names) that were shipping Hugo with the main protagonist Evangeline, who is a MINOR; also forgetting she LITTERALLY HAS NICOLAS RIGHT THERE! It made her uncomfortable so I had an idea that maybe I could make Hugo his own Belle (since Hugo is based on the fairytale "Beauty and the Beast") with an OC. But I didn't want to spring it on her so I decided to leave her be, so when I saw Cherry making a status about not liking people trying to shoehorn in OCs into her works, I private's noted her and after a short talk, Cherry had no problem with me making her and in return, she even helped me with solidifying my name choice for her.

And now, BEHOLD, ISABELLE! Hugo's love interest (in like a AU if Cherry doesn't fully want her in the series)
Isabelle is a young woman in her early 20's, running her family logging business after her parental figure, her grandfather, started to become too weak and unwell to continue doing the hard labour; her parents having passed due to unknown circumstances (I have some ideas but it's more of if they suit Cherry's canon for the show). But due to some people not believing she would be a good fit for the business, despite growing up learning all about it from her grandpa, she became very defensive and assertive; giving her a reputation of being the "red battle axe". But she is surprisingly sweet when people get to know the real her; the assertiveness is just a performance to shut down mean people.
So when the Sweet Delight crew slowly start bringing Hugo back into the town during his redemption, they came across Isabelle's logging business and home by the woods; Hugo instantly recognising her from back when he first was cursed. While trying to hide from the angry mob, Hugo ended up hiding in the darkness of Isabelle's garden, his horns blending in with the trees. What he didn't expect was that after a frustrating encounter with another demeaning business partner, Isabelle went out to let off some steam by cutting down some overgrown branches, and in blind anger, she accidentally cut off Hugo's horn mistaking it for a branch; naturally this scared Hugo out her woods and while it led the mob towards her home, upon seeing his broken horn, the town congratulated Isabelle for killing the beast and she got more respect, while allowing Hugo to run away back home to live alone. Now seeing each other again, Evangeline saw this as the perfect opportunity to have Hugo make his first good act by apologising for scaring her and invading her property; Isabelle fully accepting it as she too was at fault for the encounter and apologised back. And when the reintroduction went badly, Hugo found himself running back to Isabelle's to hide; but now recognising him, Isabelle offered him a place at her home, as long as he helped her out running her business. With no other choice, Hugo agreed.
Surprisingly, he began to find himself at home in the little cottage, after a few tail and horn incidents. He mainly began to do more of the heavy lifting work such as carrying logs inside and digging up dead stumps thanks to his beastly strength; although he has to do this tasks at night to avoid the wrath of the town. Overtime, he began to hang out with Isabelle more, who was slowly starting to lower her assertiveness after Hugo came in to defend her from a very threatening client; where as Isabelle introduced him to the wildlife of the forrest and teaching him that he doesn't need to be scared all the time now he has friends to help him be brave. And of course, the pair end up falling romantically for one another, much to everyone's surprise~

And yeah, that's Isabelle! I draw her with her axe, long with a reference next to it, a ship dynamic doodle between her and Hugo recreating the "he asked for no pickles" meme, and a art style test of Isabelle in Cherry's Sweet Delight art style; so that if she ever decides to include her in the series officially, she can have a bit of a reference to base her off of!
Speaking of references, yes she is mostly based off Mr Mint from the Candyland franchise, but I tried my best to not make her too much of a rip off! But she does also have some influence from Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (with her family dynamic, and obviously romance with her beast), Vaggie from Hazbin Hotel (for the standoffish personality she had to develop for survival), and a third character that actually was the source of her name, but I'll leave that one secret, cause it's funny~ ;3
