He inbfact is bigger. Shortly before the movie released Legendary Pictures was proud to announce that their version of Godzilla was the biggest one seen to date. Though not quite as massive as the teaser posters would lead one to believe, the new one is still the "King" of the Godzilla depictions.

And seeing godzilla versus Muto, it's like kaiju going against themselves. It's pretty cool.
