✦ su-bin tends to keep to himself, not reaching out his hand for others to take, but waiting for them to extend it to him. he's a hard worker for the things he's passionate about, which got him where he is with in the current moment, but doesn't like to dwell too much on the things he isn't particularly good at. when interacting with others, he doesn't mind skinship or close contact in general, but is extremely unlikely to initiate, again preferring to wait until others come to him. he doesn't really like talking about his time in the underground scene after the Incident, and harbors a bitterness at how cowardly he acted (joining an idol agency to run away, rather than continuing in the underground). also, he’s not picky. like, at all. as long as he’s not allergic to it, he’ll eat it. also applies to people but on a less extreme scale. doesn’t like to not get along with others, but can be hindered by the fact that he doesn’t reach out to anyone unless he really has to.

history :

✦ su-bin grew up normally enough; obeyed his parents, went to school and strived for good grades, like he was supposed to. but a budding love for poetry and the rough beats of the underground don't exactly mesh with straight a's and hours spent at cram school, and by the middle of middle school, su-bin finds himself in a bit of a dilemma. he skips cram school to craft rhymes, spends less time on his schoolwork and more time pondering perfect imagery—the best way to paint a picture with the sweet strokes of hangul.

this results in an only average su-bin, and his parents are far less than pleased. birthdays are begrudgingly filled with prettier pens and pads and mixing equipment, but also study books wrapped with passive-aggressive promises, a reminder of who's really in charge. they begin to gather dust in the corner of su-bin's room, but his heart is singing. he dips into dive bars with a flimsy fake id, spits sparks into microphones sticky with another greasy teenaged kid's dreams and receives meager retribution; scares easily at a crowd too small to be comfortable a single time and doesn't look back, keeps his nose in his mixtape and his soul in its vessel.

he pretends to be a good kid before he drops the bomb that's he's auditioning for an agency and leaving at eighteen, falling out of the nest onto his broken legs and looking to fly anyway. being a trainee is tough. he didn’t sign up for this. the singing, the dancing, the interacting with other people with dreams so aggressively vivid that they flash under his eyelids in his sleep, the incessant chanting in the back of his mind to debutdebutdebut. he isn’t sure whether to like it or not, but he’s here for the ride—bounces between agencies and gathers a couple years of experience beneath his belt before landing on S.I.

tldr; su-bin is a kid poet who wants to rap more than anything but is too intimidated by the underground scene so he decides to join an agency instead.
