I finally decided to make a manga.. and here is my perliminary sketch. I tried to make it look like a cover page, but the drawing was not clean enough so it looks kinda crappy. Anyway..The manga is called Ace in the Hole, and for those of you not familiar with card terms it means a hidden advantage. The reason I choose that title is because the dogs name is Ace, and it's rather ironic. The manga will follow a homeless girl and her dog as they go through obstacles and the like. Their names are Hana and Ace. Hana is very reluctant towards others, and spends her time as a street musician (she plays guitar) trying to earn money. Her dog Ace is a dumb but lovable male pit bull.
There are a lot of homeless people where I live and I feel it's an important subject. I'm really excited about this, so hopefully it will turn out as good as I want it to.

lovely designs of the clothing.. i think that the noneclenness of the lines kind work this way. i mean, it makes them look a bit more rough and from the streets O_o somehow

what a very charming drawing. 
the manga idea sounds very cute and charming; it reminds me of the movie "tokyo godfathers." but the world of homelessness is not cuteness and charmingness; girls like hana have turned to prostitution in order to survive. 
in any event, lovely work on this pic! and good luck on your manga, i have no doubt it will be well drawn.

Thanks for the insight, I actually have a few friends who have been homeless... so I understand what you're saying. And hopefully, the dog won't come off so bland when I draw him elsewhere. >_< So thanks for letting me know. Lol.

NICE, odd I feel like such a fanboy it's too funny. But I can't help it, you always impress, even more so now than ever. It's the tiny details that stand out, the folds in her wear, everything. The details make this look as real and filled with life as it can, truely a sign of a great artist.
About the idea, it's a nice fresh idea, we NEED more fresh ideas out there. And I'm sure it'll be great. ^^

Wow I love this!! I really think that it'll go well, the story sounds really fun, and I love the character design. When I become a homeless person I hope I can do it in something as classy as that xD Classy isn't the right word, but I'm a bit lacking in the vocabulary right now...
