Are these masks available for purchase? I am creating the Nutcracker ballet and these would be perfect for the Rat Queen

I'm actually also planning on making a rat mask, but out of leather. I love your addition of the venetian elements and how you were able to do colored eyes but still give the wearer the ability to see. Bravo!

Cast resin, with a bit of paper mache.

Very nice for a rat. I have a question for you. It appears that it rests against the chin. Is this correct? Does it cause difficulty talking with the mask on?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Qarrezel In reply to nativeart [2009-09-21 16:36:38 +0000 UTC]
It doesn't actually, that's just how it happened to be sitting on the head when we took the photo. The photos were actually taken in a bit of a hurry, and I wish we had been paying attention enough to put it on correctly.

lol no problem that happens. Like me and my fingernails on my bead picture. They weren't really dirty but looked that way. I could have photo shopped them but didn't notice it. Then it gets a daily deviation and everyone notices. Go figure.

Awesome! I'm so glad you like it!
If you feel like you'd like any second opinions on costume ideas to compliment the mask, feel free to shoot me an email. I took a photo with it that I still need to have a closer look at/adjust the color levels, but I wore a frilly white shirt and a blue cloak with it, and that looked neat.

Lovely; I always enjoy seeing your more traditional/masquerade masks. They have another layer of whimsy lent by the fact that they are more obviously masks, but have such a grace to them.

Oh my, what did you make the nose out of?
Do you make latex noses? I'm going to be making a rat suit soon and wonder if you'd be willing to sell a nose if you cast them :U

Qarrezel In reply to SilverYote [2009-09-17 14:01:23 +0000 UTC]
That nose is resin, and a part of the mask. Currently, I'm not actually offering separate cast noses.
