You may continue to answer the challenge. The one month timer is not a absolute limit. The drawing is still available for adaptation.

Thank you for this! I like it a lot. What is it based on exactly?

Can I borrow it, and then color it? How do I give credit to you?

You are free to download the image, print it out if you need to, copy it, whatever. Any way you want to color it, you can do what you need to do to color it, then scan it or save the new colored image as a digital file, and just put it on your account with a link to the original page (me).

I saw your work on this through the vertpaleo mailing list. Very good job. Maybe I'll give coloring it a go.

I discovered this when working on it, The left foot appears to have remnants of pencil work, apparent on the dew claw. Hardly noticeable, unless I'm crazy and you didn't do a pencil sketch first.

I will be interested in colored take for ... well, as long as this image is up. Which isn't likely to end in this century. You may submit here or directly to my email, which is posted in the comment to the image. I will not comment directly about individual images until 7/7/13, at which point I will link to EACH and EVERY submission. It is my intention to pull a few out for further comment, to honor creativity, originality and skill.

Ingenia is apparently a nematode, so will we be soon calling this Ingeniasaurus? Anyway I hope to enter.

Qilong In reply to Orionide5 [2013-06-10 00:20:05 +0000 UTC]
Yes, the original name Ingenia is preoccupied by a nematode. This has been known since 1997, but no name change has occurred. Even if the species yanshini were referred to Nemegtomaia barsboldi, a possible synonym, it would still require a new effective name.

So people are ignoring the nematode in the room, so to speak.

The people who are working on the problem have been "working on it" for two decades, but are mostly focused on NEW research, not old specimens. The question of Ingenia has been left mostly to Barsbold Rinchen who, my understanding goes, if fairly old right now and dealing more with administrative stuff. I do not know the current progress on the subject.

Yes. You are challenged to color it. I supposed there's an implicit desire for me to SEE them. But there is no prize.

Wasn't Ingenia from Nemegt formation?... Or was it from a slightly older Mongolian deposit?

Qilong In reply to Krookodile0553 [2013-06-10 00:17:35 +0000 UTC]
"Ingenia" yanshini is indeed from the Nemegt Formation.
