Eeeek, I love character study and development pages like these ;A; They inspire me! I love the different changes and how drastically different he ended up in comparison to the first design - what a lovely course of changes and tweaks. I might look at more of these that you have c:

....I just took another look at this, and for some reason, the uncolored finalized sketch with those hands reminded me so damn much of The Wall by Pink Floyd, specifically The Trial. XD Hahaha I started hearing in my head "GOOD MORNING, THE WORM, YOUR HONOR~! ♪ The crown will now plainly show.."
Bahaha.. I'm crazy, toys in the attic I am crazy, truly gone fishing... XP

Wow. Wow wow wow. I love how diverse your character studies are... How even one character morphs so much over the course of development. Your drawings have this solid weight to them that I really like! It's kind of a work of art in itself jst to see the process. Kudos :>

In the beginning I felt bad for the guy in chair. He seemed so sad. Then I slowly became more open to Gluttony being eaten by the Voodoo Priestess. :/ Does that make me a bad person?

You have a real talent for exaggerating physical features just enough to bring a mood or point across, but not enough to make it unrealistic. It is really interesting to see the different concepts and steps in character design. I hadn't really thought before about changing character designs and trying out new ones, but it definitely makes you characters amazing. You can really see all the effort you have put in this, and it is amazing.

Wasnt purple the most expensive color to dye in the early ages? Due to it's difficulty?

Um, I don't think so. I think blue was slightly easier to make. Purple was made from the indigo plant.

Purple and blue were both expensive dyes, but in color psychology purple is associated with magic, spirituality, and regal/royal characters, whereas blue reflects more calm, collected personalities. It worked better.
