The turning point was when April realised that she would never get her ordinary life back, that April O'Neill, high school student, died with that confrontation with Karai. From now on, she was simply April, Apprentice to Master Splinter. The four brothers noticed the coldness and lethal determination to master the warrior arts that filled her after that day and they all wondered how long it would be, if ever, before they got their warm-hearted sister back.
