Traditional drawing of Jack Sparrow... err... I mean Captain Jack Sparrow!
He's been on my to-draw-list for 2 years and now I finally managed to draw him...Reference was a production still of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow from the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Manβs Chest" (2006).
Paper DIN A4 190g/mΒ²; Faber-Castell Polychromos artists' colour pencils, Copic Ciao and Sketch marker, uni-ball Signo pigment ink um-153 white; time: ~19 hours

The light and coastal brightness are so convincing that it feels as if I could just walk into that pic, and sit down on the beach next to him; I almost can hear the seagulls
Seriously, even though the beach is just background here, it reminds me of a landscape painting you did earlier; you have a hand not just for people, but for nature as well (the details of the grainy sand in Capt. Depp's shadow just make me gasp; other artists might forget about that, or just not realize it's imortance to the overall effect).
This and of course your mastership with the colours and clothing, it's folds etc. make this another extremely realistic, and atmospheric piece

Most of the time I scan my drawings and then I edit the brightness / colour tint in Photoshop. But sometimes I just take a picture with my camera (Canon EOS 600D + Canon 100mm macro) for example if the paper is too large (A3) or if I want to place tools on the picture.
