Description Hazel, I remember you asked me about the Orion Nebula so here it is I hope you like

I have seen this a few times last winter but didn't have the right telescope and camera to image it. After a great night of taking loads of astro pics I could see Orion rising through the trees. I thought if only the tree wasn't there and I can't wait till later in the year when orion is higher. Then I thought I'll give a go through the tree brances. Thats why I'm very suprised to see the this pic. It was taken through loads of leaves and was veery low in the sky

Thank you very much!!

Yeah, I did this with my cam and telescope no huge ass observatory lol! To be honest, now i'm not that happy with this one, (at the time I was over the moon) This was taken through some leaves as it was rising low, I couldn't move my scope(long story ) I had a second attempt which i'm more pleased with, here it is

Hope you like..

hmm, it's a shame you can't afford these at the moment But you don't need to buy these to take astro shots Here's a couple of shots taken with a camera and tripod [link] [link]

Uh Beautiful shot of orion nebula. I have to go tonight to try some pictures with my TAL-1 and canon S1 IS. do you happend to know any good cheap way to link camera to ocular?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

quicksimon In reply to JuhaniViitanen [2006-01-09 14:54:29 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!! Hmm. Can you remove the lens on your camera? If you can you will need a t mount for your camera and an m42 adapter specific to your scope. If you can't remove the lens your best bet is to buy an adapter like some on this site[link] good luck! I've got a better m42 pic here [link]

Thank you. I solved proplem by making pipe from toiletpaper roll. I'm not tested it yet under the sky but i hope it works.

Thank you! Sorry its taken me so long to comment but have been really busy. Shut in at home because of the snow today so thought I would try and catch up!

This is my all time favorite thing in the sky I think and you have taken such a cracking picture of it. It is just perfect. The colours and detail you have captured in the gases is awesome. Amazing

Thanks!!. I have a Meade lxd55 8" newtonian. Its not that big but it is very good quality for deepspace stuff especially. Here is my website, all my gear and pics are on it if you want a look. Thanks

Ooooooooooo! That's sooooo awesome. I've never seen the Orion Nebula in real life, only in photographs. You really are lucky to be able to see all these galaxies, nebulas, & other space-objects in real life. I wish I was rich enough to buy a telescope. I'd be looking in it all the time!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

quicksimon In reply to AyaneShinobi [2005-11-10 12:05:05 +0000 UTC]

Thanks very much!!

This was the first time I've evey tried to take a picture of the orion nebula. This was through branches as it had just risen over the horizon!! Couldn't move my scope because would put the alignment out. Hope you can get to buy a telescope soon because you seem to really like astronomy. You can pick a half decent one up for about £150/$200.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing with this one! i literally was looking through branches when I took it. Got loads last night, goona take a while before I sort them out and upload them.

Just finished my website. It would be great if you could check it out.
