Description

A long time ago I had this plan to draw TOS Bones. Well, I did a couple of simple drawings of the triumvirate, but I really just wanted to draw Leonard McCoy in all his medical glory. Hence, this art.
I’m really proud of how it turned out – I had to look at a few different pic references to get the idea down on paper. I personally love Bones in his medical smock so that’s what he’s wearing. He also has a hypo in one hand (though I’m not sure how well it shows up). I know his legs look off proportion-wise, but people just look weird when they kneel down like that… :/ Anyway, it’s a pose I can see Bones doing. Also, I now appreciate the power of Deforrest Kelley’s eyebrows. They were one of the most challenging things to draw, no joke. I also did a bit of shading with this drawing and it turned out very nice, so that might be something I continue in the future.
