This piece was done for the Grimm fairy tales ArtOrder challenge. It is the scene from The Crystal Ball where the hero meets the cursed princess for the first time.Edit: 10/30/2015 Updated main file with repainted version.

I absolutely LOVE this piece! Its so well done! There is alot of detail visible in the lighting and features throughout the whole piece.I also love the background. I first thought it was a fancy place, judged by the clothes and mirrors, but closer inspection, i can ssee chains and skulls. I do love the message this gives.
The ugly girl has so much detail in it. And im not just talkign about the face. Im talking about the body, and the dress. You have got the lighting and shadows, about 75% right. The colours of the skin and dress, they dont really match, but, she is supposed to be a "hag" sorta, so it looks right. The hair has lots of detail in each strand.
The girl in the mirrors, definetly more beautiful, which means youve done well with speratign them, but still making them look alike in some way. They do look in the same postiion, looking at both mirrors, except i think the head in the bigger mirror, is a bit more titled then the reality one. The colours from the nicer one, work well with eacher, creating more beauty. It makes the ugly one uglier, and the beauty one, more beautiful.
The skulls in the background have a very nice shape. The anatomy of them is very good, along with the lighting and colours. It also works well with its surroundings, but still manages to stabd out. The chain also creates more detail into surroundings.
The mirrors look GREAT! I can see the shadows, the design is very good, and the shape is clever.
This is an awesome piece, youve put alot into it, not much bad to say about it! I love it!

What a view and scene! I'm really impressed by this work.
I really like the color tones you used, they make a wonderful fantasy atmosphere and give the work this something special. Also the composition is fantastic, specially the mirrors and the reflections in it. But what makes this work for me an eye-catcher are those fine little details you used on the womans face and objects, just adorable. The only thing I find that could be a bit different is her body (stomach) figure. Because she's so skinny I'd personally make her look slimmer around her stomach.
All in all is this a wonderful created work.

Creepy but awesome. Great technique in general. The skulls and just how wrinkly the lady is make it really- I can describe it just *shudder* in a good way.
