...Yes, this one was a bear to color, but it was well worth the effort. I think it is one of my prettier dragon designs, and I don't usually think of myself as a drawer of "pretty" things.

Thanks! Complex = LUV. I just take it one body loop at a time, from the design stage to the final little spiky bit. It's not so complex that way.

These designs look very difficult when taken in total, but if you focus on one scale at a time, one coil at a time, it becomes manageable. At least, that's what works for me. Best of luck, and show me once you're ready!

As always, I love the design and the crazy detail: ornate, yet clear. All the various patterns blend into the whole, yet stand out to identify each "section" that they belong to. Makes me want to learn how to do color, lol!

I'd love to! When I get back home and have access to my desk top and Photoshop once again, I may sit down and try to tackle one. However, I must say that what I've seen other artists do with colors on these have been wonderful!

I didn't get into coloring pages until I got quite a bit older, but I'd been drawing my own intricate stuff to color for quite a while. When I discovered that other artists enjoyed coloring some of my dragons, it finally hit me that I should start making some dedicated color-me projects and collect them in a book for folks like you who *do* want more intricate things to color. It's only in the last few years that I've begun to find grown-up coloring books, anyway; some of the amazing stuff I've seen wasn't available when I was a kid, either. The closest thing we had was Doodle Art posters (which were still cool as heck, but there just weren't a lot of design choices!)

I colored as a kid, and didn't expect to find anything worth coloring as an adult. This is great, because I enjoy doing my own lines, but when I'm in a crunch I can just get by with coloring.
There are some intricate pictures called mandalas. They are supposed to be spiritual, but I've always just wanted to color one because of the designs. You should look into them if you ever want to color something that's not yours.
