This is the first leg of a four-part art trade with . We decided to each do pictures with dragons centered around the four seasons.

Backgrounds are no big deal; when I can't think of one (which is 98% of the time...), I just throw in some watercolor to fill it in.

I think of snakes flying through the air, and long-finned fish swimming through water. I think the effect is more swimmerly than anything else, and from there it's just a matter of balancing the shapes of the composition so that the read the way I like.

oh this is so pretty...i might be brave and try this one! one request tho, do you have one with a white bg? I haven't figured out how to use a transparent bg yet, sure wish i could, tho, lol

I can send you a .jpg version if you like, but you ought to be able to flatten the image in most any program so that it is black lines on white background.

do you use photoshop bhudicae .... if so open the image then create a new layer fill it in with white making sure its below the lines then merge

Whoah, that is exuberant indeed! I love how you've expanded the dragon's body into a design element. The feathers have a leafy look but still clearly look like part of its body.
By the way, was this lineart originally done digitally or in pen?

Thanks! My dragons tend to be more about design elements than anything else these days. I love to play with design.
I originally did this with pen and ink, then I run it through Photoshop to clean it up a bit.
