I was disappointed by them being Fighting types again (come on, Dark could have worked...) but I do like their designs. I've been kinda wanting to draw them for a while in a better stylistic way but haven't gotten around to it.

To be honest, I wouldn't evolve Pokabu. I think it looks much better as a pig.

Its evolution's are also pigs. Just two legged not four legged. Emboar is also a wild boar. A fully grown pig with tusks.

The sketchiness and colors make me think of a Miyazaki character! ooh or maybe it's the eyes D: Either way you make this guy friggin' cute <333 I'm still unsure of the new starters...cause I usually like the fire type D; well except monferno, I avoided him like the plague lol x')

In your style, he looks so good an evolution would almost seem a little gratuitous. And virtually all you changed were the tail and those ears that were way too close together! Nintendo just doesn't seem to be catching the little things on the new generations of PokΓ©mon... :/

I would've picked Pokabu as my favourite new starter if I hadn't fallen in love with Tsutaaja. His fur makes him look quite pettable here, even if his face looks like he might burn someone who cheesed him of. ^^

I wonder if it will be either a Fire/Ground or Fire/Dark? I hope it's not another Fire/Fighting or Fire/Gound cause the last two Fire Starters were Fire/Fighting, and having a Fire/Ground would make it more of a Numel/Camerupt copy.
