This is a really excellent piece of art. I am composing a piece at the moment which is inspired by sea battles. Would it be possible to use this artwork to go along with the piece on my soundcloud? If so, how would I go about crediting you.

Would you like to see a Battle ofΒ Trafalgar movie? If so who do you think would direct it? Please don't let it be Michael Bay, the last thing that battle needs is Linkin Park, American heroes and an alien attack during the battle. Β

You may already be aware of this, but DA user Blueshadow-the-pony (blueshadow-the-pony.deviantart⦠is claiming and selling this painting as their own. I submitted a report to DA, but you may wish to submit one of your own as well.

She was indeed launched in May of 1765, but as was the practice, that was just a stripped hull.Β She had her masts, rigging, guns and sails added later in the year, was commissioned, then came back forΒ refit early in the next year.Β This is normal because the ships kept getting bigger, and the Masts and sails weren't always the best combination for the design.
Despite being in drydock, the HMS Victory is perfectly ready and able to take to sea.Β She's need to flush out her crew, provision up and take on powder and shot, but otherwise, she is sea worthy.Β Β Β Not bad for a lady 257 years old. ^_*

We had 33 ships to their 41.
Splitting into two rows the Royal Navy, lead by the HMS Victory and the HMS Royal Sovereign flew head long into the combined French and Spanish fleet guns blazing, for if they lost the attle there would be nothing seperating Britain from the invaders.
But with brilliant tactics and hearts of courage the Royal Navy fought valiantly, after the battle the combined Franco-spanish fleet was in ruins; Nelson's navy stood victorious even though he was wounded in the fight but lived long enough to find out that he had won.
This battle turned the tide of the control of the seas, Britin was propelled from a lone island nation into the centre of the largest and most powerful empire seen to date.
'ENGLAND CONFIDES THAT EVERY MAN WILL DO HIS DUTY' - Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson.

Being an ex-sailor myself and having a fondness for all things naughticle I found this picture particularly moving. You have captured the sheer menacing atmosphere of a naval battle perfectly. Well Done and thanks heartily for your efforts!

She may be the oldest still in commission, but the Constitution is still sea-worthy. Not to nitpick or anything, both are great examples of the Age of Sail.

a lot of spanish new sailor recruits also died in this battle, they fought with courage even when they were enough trained, they fought even when many imperial french ships take sials towards cadiz, spain letting the allied spanish fleet alone, as well many brittish and french sailors died here, not only nelson

Again, wow!!! Totally awe-inspiring. And again, unusually for a battle picture, the emphasis is not just on making the ships look lovely - looking at this picture, you can feel the full bloody thunder of war, the horror, the destruction, the loss of life. Brilliant, brilliant work!
