Description When the Empire of Kelinia was formed in the early 17th century, the newly formed Imperial Council was tasked to train, equip, and modernize the Imperial Army.  Before this point, the Kingdom of Kelinia relied on peasant levies and mercenaries to fight in battles or to quell rebellions.  Now there would be a standing army meant to maintain order across the Empire.  Legislation and taxation would be passed to ensure that the Imperial Army could be equipped with standardized uniforms and rifles, though production was slow at first, which led many units with a mix of old and new equipment.  Once the standardization was fully implemented, the Imperial Army would begin to drill the soldiers in marching and formations.  Even though previous wars had gunpowder firearms, the inaccuracy of early firearms made line formations effective during marching and charges.  The drilling also led to the infantryman of the Imperial Army able to fire four rounds per minute on average.  By the time modernization and standardization of the Imperial Army, the Empire of Kelinia had emerged as a world power enough to rival the Kingdom of Athaso and Tsarist Eutoria.  When colonization of Northern Idmania began, the infantryman of the Imperial Army crushed both the Idmanian Army, and the militias that emerged after the colonization.
