"Some Kind of Heaven" (1992), acrylics on illustration board, 70 x 50 cm / 27,3 x 20 in.

This image, dated from 1992, was one of my first illustrations with a professional airbrush. At the same time it was also an experiment with surrealistic and in parts abstract elements. Since then I have always wanted to do something like this (as well including Gothic settings), as I can very much identify myself with this kind of work. But actually I have always had such a lot of demands for covers that there was no time left for this – or I just wasn’t in the mood.
Still today I like the picture very much.
