Though the thorns strike him, he continues forward, determined to reach her no matter how much it hurts.

"But you're not alone anymore. Law's here, and Rinwell too. Kisara, and Dohalim... And so am I."

He grabs the physical thorns surrounding her. Pain wracks his body but he resists it, forcing them apart, shattering them with a yell of mingled pain and desperation. Though she is still lost to her own darkness, he steps up before her.

"Believe me when I say, you are not alone. So please..."

Carefully he takes her in his arms. Her intangible thorns tear through him, but though his voice trembles with pain, he holds her close in the kind of hug she has never been able to experience before.

"Don't give up on us! We... will bear your thorns together! I swear it!

"Shionne..."

He doesn't see it: but the light finally returns to her eyes. With a gasp of released emotion, she buries her face in his shoulder...

Did I take on more than I could manage with this one? POSSIBLY! Between the pose, the angle, and aaaaaall the details of Alphen's armour, it was a challenge and a half...

But for you, it was worth it. Happy Valentine's Day, to my love

I know you love these two, and rewatching some scenes from the game for inspiration I completely fell in love with their relationship again too. They've got a lot of powerful scenes between them, but if any of them is their signature scene, I think it has to be this one.
