Took a while to finish this up and I think this ended up being a rather nice and satisfying tribute (when I think back, I was almost giving up the fight with the cell shading... I just couldn't find the right way with the outlines and flat-coloring)Pencil doodle, outlined in PS, added texture.
EDIT: some of you thought this is my fisrt cell-shading...-IT ISN'T...askjdfhghdkks...NO! :'D I just don't do it often, because I have troubles making the lines smooth and..generally, the work on it is slow. So I rather digi-paint or do traditional.
Got inspired by 's short and heartwarming fiction "Domestic".

Waugh asjdfgjh this is SO BEAUTIFUL. The textures and shading, their feet, the way they're all huddled up together, the scrapes and bruises, and ohmygosh, the shadows are just beautiful. I love the way his arm is around her, and I love her face. She looks so tired, and he looks so protective.
Goodness gracious, though, those shadows are just... jagdfjh breathtaking.

The feet are just..... seriously, how did you make them so real?! I seriously was just staring at the feet for a minute!
The posing is lovely, so intimate - I love Doug wrapping his arm protectively around Chell. Faces are lovely too - they look so calm, like they're finally at peace having found each other. The little details like the cuts on the skin and tears in the clothes give the whole thing a very raw quality as well, a nice contrast to the calm they seem to be experiencing.
Their eyes are perfect! I have just noticed that Doug looks extremely pale, scarily pale. For some reason, I keep staring at their feet......
For some odd reasons, the style of this piece reminds me of Dr. Rattmann by doubleleaf because it seems rather alike to me......
(I should really avoid being hasty when comment because I always end up forgetting something and remember it later or randomly pops up in mind and comment again and end up spaming deviants' mailbox. Now this sounds pointless and weird. ......)
