Also, let me add an explanation of why this shot has nothing around it. I was quite literally a foot away from it, standing on my balcony. I had been waiting there for hours for the bird to get comfortable with me, and eventually it had settled on a branch right in front of me, and I took my shot.

It is interesting. I didn't get much of a chance to observe house sparrows up close in Australia, but this one looks different from those in South America. Her beak is really robust and long and has a much stronger yellow tint (including the feathers) than what I've ever seen before. Nice photo, great shot!
