Sorry for taking so long to answer, haven't had a new comment on my work in months so I haven't been checking that often.  You can find the original art that I worked from online.  I first tried Intarsia about 12 years ago, but found it was to hard because I couldn't get the detail I wanted, so I switched to segmentation where everything goes back together like a puzzle.  Also with Intarsia, I didn't know the different wood patterns and colors enough to  design a decent piece.  Good luck with yours.

Thank you for your comment on my Captain Rex, he is one of my all time favorite Star Wars characters from Clone Wars and was so happy they brought him back in Rebels, even though I wish he had more air time.  So are you actually in Singapore?  I am amazed at some of the places that I get comments from.  From a DA post a couple of years ago, I have a had an on going dialog with another woodworking in South America.

Thank you for your comment on Capt. Rex, I really enjoyed making this piece.  I have plans for a Boba Fett, Ahsoka and Sabine.  I have been a huge Star Wars geek ever since I first saw that Star Destroyer come across the screen back in the 70's...saw that one 10 times in the theater.

When Star Wars came out I was in college and I had a 3 hour brake on one day and there was theater 10 minute walk away.  When Empire Strikes Back came out, I saw it on the opening day at the Egyptian theater in L.A.  First time I ever saw people cosplay their favorite characters.  Don

Sorry if some of this goes astray, I am trying to answer this and watch the Oregon Duck's game at the same time.  Even though I enjoyed the prequels (still not as good as the original 3), I thought they could have done them in 2 movies.  I really enjoyed the new characters and ships.  I really fell in love with The Clone Wars animated series, all the stories were so clever, in all five seasons...there was not one episode I did not like.  I watched the 4 episode arc called "The Bad Batch" which are unfinished episodes and thought it was THE BEST arc they had.  I was always worried about Ahsoka during the series, because we know what happens to the Jedi, and I was so happy when she left.  My daughters were so sad about it until I told them "Ahsoka Lives !"  Now, of course I love Rebels and was very excited to see Ahsoka and Rex come back. I do wish Rex had more air time.  But with Rebels, since we don't hear about any of these characters in "A New Hope", any of these new characters could get killed off at any time, more now that Vader is back also.  With "The Force Awakens", even though it was a rehash of bits of the first 3 movies, I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing more of Rey.  At the moment. I am dying for Rogue One to come out.  Since you have been to my DA site, you have seen my POP bobblehead upgrades, I am working on a Speeder Bike for my Imperial Scout, a TIE Fighter for my Imperial Pilot, an X-Wing for Luke and R2 and I will turn my Han Solo into Han Solo in Carbonite.  Talk to you later, Don

Dude I loved the "Crystal Crisis" and "The Bad Batch" even though they were proxy animation they still had so much going for them. I'm so mad they didn't Finnish them. ( I wanna see the proxy animated episodes of Ahsoka soooo bad. )

Ikr! But I do love the character development between him and Kanan. An old clone trooper and a secret Jedi, it's a good mix for the team. But after the season 2 finale I'm just.... AAHHH. Sorry got off on a tangent, but ya.

I know, right.  Since none of these characters are mentioned in "A New Hope" and beyond, are they going to kill off all the characters.  I was so glad when Ahsoka left the Jedi's in Clone Wars, because I knew she would not be part of Order 66.  Now back on Rebels, every fight scene might be some ones last.  I loved season one's finale, but season 2, me and my daughters were screaming (and I'm 62).  The scene where Vader is riding his TIE was incredible, but you knew something bad was going to happen.  As with the 5 seasons of Clone Wars, Rebels is so well written, and the animation is so incredible, I have not seen one episode I did not like.  I could talk about these shows all day, I am a huge Star Wars geek ever since I saw Star Wars (before it was A New Hope) in 77.  Was lucky enough to see Empire Strikes Back on opening day at Grauman's Chinese Theater in L.A., first time I ever saw people dress up as Star Wars characters.

I know, right.  I love everything Sart Wars, ever since I saw Sart Wars (before it was A New Hope) back in 77...the first time I saw that Sart Destroyer at the beginning of the movie...to the end when they blew up the Death Sart, I was hooked.  After all the movies, comes Sart Wars Clone Wars with Capt. Rex, one of my all time favorite Sart Wars characters.  I loved working on that character, I actually started giggling when I figured out how to do his weathering (didn't want to be confused with a shiny).  There was not one episode of that series I did not like.  The writing on Clone Wars was incredible.  So, I am working on Boba Fett right now, and have plans for Ahsoka, Ventress and Sabine.  I am 62 years old, and SART WARS HAS BEEN MY LIFE!!!

It's fine, I'm totally fine with you commenting my comment. Star Wars as been in my life for a will, It's my favorite Movie (s). My dad is also a Star Wars fan... but I think there is a problem with my mom. She is a Star Trek fan, but she still watch Star Wars.

Hey, this is 2016, you can be Bi-Fandable or Trans-Franchisable all you want.  I grew up watching the original Star Trek, then the movies, watched Spock get emotional, had his brain cut out, grow a goatee, pet a Tribble and then die, then was brought back...then Kirk dies and brought back with Tribble blood.  There is room in my heart for both series, Star Wars is just more AWESOME!!!  Don't blame your mom for liking Star Trek (or is it Sart Trek), they cast Chris Pine as Kirk...my wife likes watching him too.

I have no problem with it, she also watch the original to new and saw the movies. But I think she is more as a "Star Gate" fan. I'm not all over it (like some people who watch it, I'm not hating on any of the fans) but I like it. I like the original better then the new ones, they are a lot better and they are cool to understand.

Rex.  He is one of my favorite characters from Clone Wars, glad they brought him back in Rebels...I hope they give him more stuff to do though.  The hardest part of the Capt. Rex piece was the weathering (didn't want him to look like a shiny).  When I finally figured the weathering out I actually started giggling...because it looked just like him.  I like to pay attention to the details, I am very happy how he turned out.  Right now I am working on a Boba Fett, and have plans for Ahsoka, Ventress and Sabine.

Thank you for your comment on the DD.  Didn't know anything about it until I suddenly had 150 new messages on Capt. Rex.  I have never looked at the Daily Deviation, tried to look for it, but could not find it.  I am a huge Star Wars geek and loved working on Capt. Rex.  Right now I am working on Boba Fett and have plans for Ahsoka.

Thank you for your comment on Capt. Rex.  I took me a while to figure out how to weather his armor, because it had to look just right.  I saw a video how they weather replica armor and swords, tried it out and it was perfect.  I am working on a Boba Fett right now and get to more weathering...now I have to figure out how to do chipped paint.  I have plans to do Ahsoka, Ventress, and Sabine from Rebels.

Star Wars Clone Wars Animated series is one of my all time favorite series.  It is a 5 season show about the stories between the movies Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith.  Ahsoka Tano is introduced in the first episode.  I did not find one episode I did not like, they just kept on getting better.  The stories were fantastic, the writing clever, the animation was great.  I can't say enough about this series.  If you love Star Wars, you will love this.  Right now I am working on a Boba Fett, and have plans for Ahsoka and Ventress.

The Clone Wars (the CG series) is generally better scripted and acted than the Prequel films they're based on. We also get much better character development for Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme and most of the other characters introduced in Episodes I and II. And certain plot elements, such as Order 66 and Sidious' scheming, are given more explanation. If you haven't seen it and you're a Star Wars fan, I'd definitely recommend watching The Clone Wars as it helps flesh out the Prequel era.
