Description This one is watercolour, 18" by 24". I finished it this morning. I'm afraid the paper curled a bit, making the pole of the right look a little "off", but I'll post a better image on Monday.

Thanks! ^^ I think it turned out okay. It's a real whopper, so it takes up a lot of space. I hope it doesn't last long.

Thanks! This one's a real whopper - I don't usually go very large or colourful, but I needed something eye-catching for the spring shows.

u should do it more often (surprise people with something really different)

Yeah, that's what Pepper says, too. It's discouraging when people come to the gallery looking for "larger" work and I don't ahve much to choose from. I think subconsciously, I try to paint small to keep them affordable.

JacquiJax In reply to RamonaQ [2009-04-09 03:27:38 +0000 UTC]

yup.. sometimes it is true.. but well.. in those cases they should ask for a larger piece (commission)

since if u start doing all large, u wont sell so many.. i think that

RamonaQ In reply to JacquiJax [2009-04-09 10:25:11 +0000 UTC]

You're right. When people don't see aht they want, I usually say, "Of course I can paint in any style or size you'd like." Sometimes that works. I'll probably have the Carousel and the Manatees around for a while because they're pretty expensive, but it'll be a pleasant surprise when they go.

Thank you very much! This one's pretty big, so I had the frameshop frame it rather than try myself. I'm hoping it'll be a hit at the spring shows!

Aw, thanks! I decided to have the frame shop frame this one professionally, since it's such a whopper - the only frames I have lying around are pretty old and beat-up.

I wish you could see this one in person - it didn't get much attention on DA, but it's really pretty big and eye-catching. I hope it serves me well as a centerpiece for the spring show season. ^^

I think it will, how could it not?! It probably is ten times better in person, which is truly impressive!

Thank you very much! This one took quite a while, but I'm pretty happy with it - it's a larger work, so I'm having it framed rather than frame it myself...

looks festive - like summer time ; D

Thank you so much! I'll probably get around to framing this one today - I needed something big and colourful to draw the crowds at the spring shows. I rarely work this large, and it's nice to have a big eye-catcher.

Beautiful. My great uncle use to own a carousel, it was so difficult to pick out which animal to ride on.

RamonaQ In reply to Rhed-Dawg [2009-02-16 11:21:58 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! ^^ I think this particular one only has horses, but I kind of like the ones that have bears and tigers, too. My Saturday student, Stella, was kind enough to bring me the reference - maybe I should ask about other animals and try another one later on.

Yes, ma'am. I just stuck it up on the easel to take the picture, and didn't notice the little curl. I'll take another shot when it's matted.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RamonaQ In reply to Dabull04 [2009-02-14 21:38:00 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, David! Well, I measured and marked the sides so that the beginning and end of each "twirl" would be in the right place and just added a line, then a glob, then a shadow...
