Description A Wondrous Casting
I'm going to let you in on a little secret when it comes to Misanthropy.

Much like Dina Abou Karam, I tend to hate people more when they ruin something I'm excited for. As I mentioned before, I felt DC Comics should NOT go into a Justice League movie before putting out a World's Finest Movie (Batman & Superman) first. So you can imagine I was very happy when DC announced at Comic-Con that this is now official. That is the only way DC could go toe to toe with Avengers 2! Bring there 2 big flagship characters together. Then came the never ending butthurt over Ben Affleck being cast as Batman. Which didn't bother me in the slightest, mainly because after 3 movies of that untalented fuckwad Christian Bale I'd gladly settle with ANYONE else. Hell I'd gladly take Jim Carrey as Batman over Bale. Then again, it doesn't matter what you or I think. It's there movie and they can cast whoever they want!!

Don't like it?

DON'T GO TO THE MOVIE!!!

It's very fucking simple. No amount of "tweeting" or petitions is going to change this fact!

Now comes the news that Gal Gadot was cast to play Wonder Woman.... and how do you think the Internet reacted?

If your answer was something like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS7nqw…

Then you'd be right.

First and foremost I have no opinion of Gal Gadot for I have not seen any of her movies. I herd she was in Fast & the Furious but I don't care about that series. So her casting is a moot point to me. I'd prefer somebody who is kind of unknown or has little acting experience to be picking up major roles now. Instead of just handing them out to the usual over rated staples like Angelina Jolie or Johnny Depp. I never herd of Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield before they played Spider-Man, and the same could be said for Heath Ledger as Joker.

In fact I'd feel the movie would suffer more if it was say Megan Fox as Wonder Woman. Cus you know what to expect from that thundercunt!

I want Affleck and Gadot to succeed with this for it's kind of become a really obvious outcome that when these "critics" bitch about an announcement they're usually 90% of the time wrong. I often wonder if people just get angry just to be angry these days. Nobody really stops to think WHY these things are done or what the motivation was. I called out Maleficent on what it is. A cash grab on an old Disney movie and the fact they got a big Hollywood name. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yet here I get the vibe Marvel has put DC in an awkward situation. Sure they had Nolan's Batman kicking the crap out of their movies (the common opinion, not mine) and now Marvel changed it up with The Avengers. However now that Nolan's working on turning Superman into "Space Jesus" DC needs to do something big. So it's trying what The Avengers did but I feel it's going about it the wrong way. Nothing to do with Gal at all. I'm glad Wonder Woman's getting some long over due screen time but maybe this might not be the way to go about it!

The problem I see is this is World's Finest. The movies main focus is the meeting and confrontation between the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight. Not Wonder Woman or the other DC characters in the background. Now I could completely forgive the announcement if WW is a post credits scene. She pulls a Thanos at the end would be a smart idea. Provided it would lead into a Wonder Woman movie afterwards.

That's what people should be saying. Not the usual shit of "OMG SIGN MY PETITION TO GET THIS CASTING CHANGED!!!!" which results in nothing! I also hear The Flash may also be showing up in the movie (as well as Green Lantern rumours) which shows DC are desperate. They want Justice League to be a smash hit like The Avengers. Yet they are not taking the steps to ensure we give a shit about these characters.

Mind you, not all super hero teams needed solo movies to make it work. X-Men got it right on its first try. Then did a terrible Origins movie and a First Class Movie down the road... if you'll forgive those puns.

Who knows? Maybe DC Comics knows exactly what they're doing and this method will pay off big time.

Then again, I've never seen a Pig migrate south for the winter!

As much as I love Marvel, (and believe you, me, I f---ing LOVE Marvel), and besides the fact that even the real trailer that just came out still looked kind of like a fan-made trailer, I try not to have to much bias towards DC beforehand. Still, I am leaning towards the opinion that you are still probably right...

And you're forgot something that the deviation shows: Marvel pretends to do a second Avengers movie in 2015. But the problem is that they make Tony Stark left the Iron Man work in "Iron Man 3". Also, I didn't see "Captain America: Winter Soldier" but I figure that Marvel left Captain America very shocked for the fact that Winter Soldier IS Bucky Barnes. I see too difficult to make an Avengers movie with that perspectives. And other thing that you mention: The Flash and Green Lantern rumors. These areΒ rumors, we don't know anything about it, so we have to wait for DC announcement of casting characters that will add to "World's Finest" checked characters and don't make stupid speculations.

Finally, one advice: Batman vs. Superman isn't World's Finest. We have to get used to it.Β Β

The joke with the Avengers saying "2015" is a parody of the general reaction everyone has over The Avengers. Claiming DC can't do decent movies "like the Avengers"

and you're right about that last part. It's not going to be World's Finest......sadly.

That's the gag, the hype surrounding the second film (which I don't think the movie will live up to)

Probably you're right, but if Marvel see that a second movie gives them enough earnings they will try to do it. To be honest, that's the only reason that makes DC and Marvel make superhero movies, the earnings. If now drama movies were popular, we will invaded by drama movies. When the superhero movies business ends, we wouldn't see a superhero movie again...

Hey, very good, and yeah, I think it will be a great movie, and Diana, even if just in a cameo role, will be a nice touch.

DC has done a good job with its animated movies and shows...up until when they cancelled Young Justice and started focusing in more child friendly materials-I don't mind some funny comedy focused material but YJ had a lot of potential for a third season after the decline in the second. I think they managed to bounce back with Man of steel, which I think j was a good portrayal of a fresh and inexperienced Supes.

Admittedly Marvel has the head start in them with this, but I think that the decision to bring in Wonder Woman could help ease DC's way into a Justice League film. Now if they did go for it the it would be easy to bring in Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern and tie that film into this-his acting itself wasn't bad in that movie so it's what I would pick. After that they have four of the spots for a JL film and just need the Martian Man hunter, Flash and possibly Aqua Man. The they could have a big time villain to face, somebody less powerful than Darkseid but still strong enough to be a definite threat to the League like Mongul Or Brainiac.

If they manage to do it right, give Wonder Woman her moment in the spotlight like in Batman/Superman: Apocalypse then it could work. All they need is a believable way to bring her in, which could depend on the villain. Or maybe they could rethink this and go from World's finest to a movie called DC's Trinity or something like that so all three heroes could have their moments without any fans complaining about one or the other having too small a part in it.

Personally I think they will somehow pull it off, but I know that no matter what people will bitch and complain and say things like a character was butchered or the plot sucked. It's time like that which make me wonder if it would have been better if we never had a movie industry to begin with since it brings out the most immature parts of people when they get to debating these things. As for me, I'm just going to try and enjoy whatever the movie comes out as.

Sadly the same could be said for any industry.

Good read and I agree with you.

I just know that the Justice League movie will suck. Can you name any good DC movie made in the last 10 years that is not Batman (I would also say Man of Steel, but I might be the only person that likes that movie)?Β
