Description I have to say, I miss TVR, primarily because they tended to come up with insane pieces of machinery like this! Originally conceived as a race-oriented car with a power-limited engine (I say limited, it was still outputting 675hp!), when the limiters were removed, this 7.7-litre V12 beast was capable of over 800hp and even managed to break a dyno TVR tested it on which was rated to 1000hp. Determined to be just too powerful and undriveable to be unleashed on the road, TVR originally cancelled existing orders, but later placed a single one of the prototypes up for sale with a bodyshell repurposed from one of the race models - that same vehicle you now see here on show at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

In short, it's overpowered, it's insanely quick, it's reputedly undriveable on the road. I love it.

Yeah, it's really rare to see one. Maybe one day, it's an awesome piece of engineering. I just wish I could see one actually being driven!

I never seen this particular version of the TVR Speed 12.

It's certainly a rarity, one of a kind, I believe!

If this thing did receive a full production release, this most likely would've been a McLaren F1 killer.

Quite possibly, such a shame that TVR ended the way it did.

TVR as a manufacturer is expected to make a comeback to car production by 2017. I wonder if they'll show off prototypes/concepts of their new road cars in this year's FoS?

Sadly, I've heard that sort of thing before. It'd be great, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Wow, I can't believe you're lucky enough to actually see in person this ultra-rare V12 monster!!

It's certainly a V12 monster! If you ever get the chance to go to the Goodwood Festival of Speed - usually June/July-ish in the south of England - I recommend you make the trip. It's a really unique gathering of everything automotive and you can get up close to a number of rare things like this beauty.

Hopefully I can persuade my parents to let me go there, I've always wanted to attend that festival! T_T
By the way, did they take this car out for a spin during the Goodwood FOS?

Last year goodwood livestreamed the events of the FoS on their website for the first time. They might do it again this year!

I'll take note of that. Thanks for the info!

Keep in mind that they will primarily be showing interviews, show runs, timed runs and tours around the various manufacturer gazebos which have their famous cars on display.

True, but there'll be at least one plucky photographer bringing images back to share with everyone, regardless of what does make the stream!

Hmm... I wonder what cars will be making timed runs up the hill this year? Seb.Loeb came within the fastest officially-recorded times last time he went out in the Pikes Peak 208 - a 44.6 second run, behind the McLaren MP4-13 Formula 1 car and the Jaguar XJR-9 Group C Le Mans car.

All kinds! Betting on the Ferrari 488 GTB making an appearance. If you like Peugeots, I know the new 308 R Hybrid with 500bhp is due to be there...

If you can make it, you won't be disappointed. I don't know any other event quite like it.

Sadly they didn't take this one up the hill, but there are plenty of monsters that do make the climb that are just as exciting to see!

...and like all TVRs it wants to murder you right now in the middle of the face. And this one looks like it even more than most! Beautiful and eeeeeeevil car.

It's true, if ever there was a car that looked like it was forged in the fires of Hades itself, this is probably it. And it has the colour to match!
