Oh, I know. c: And I know how to do it, too--I've rehydrated furs before.
I just hesitate to do so because he's a much older tan than anything I've worked with before (the seller estimates he's at least 30 years old), and I'm so paranoid about slip or disintegration.Β
This bear may become a headdress in the future, and because of my lack of skill with older pelts and lack of bear headform, I'd probably be sending him away to be reshaped. But that means that, if something does start to go wrong, he'll be in skilled hands that can make it right.

The seller said he tested a few pieces of the pelt and that despite its age, it handled rehydration pretty well.
I may just do a little bit to flip his ears rightside-out again, just so that I can do a little bit of grooming (and some petting because soft ear fur).
