Description

Yowie (Parapongo australiaensis)

The bulkier Australian cousin of the Orang-Pendek, the Yowie is a very rare and secretive forest dweller of the forests and rain forests of Eastern Australia where it is revered by the native aborigines. During the Pleistocene when sea levels dropped dramatically the ancestors of the Yowie managed to island hop with other animals such as rhinos from Indonesia to New Guinea and, in the case of the Yowie, into mainland Australia. Yowies are known from their loud bellowing calls and their diet mostly consists of plant matter such as the leaves of eucalyptus but like most pongids of Viam Alternatus are opportunistic and will often scavenge the shoreline for crustaceans and shellfish.

That's really realistic!

And this creature would have been possible if there was apes in Australia, but the only real Australian apes for now is a legendary Yeti called Yowie....

That picture you have looks more like the Australian Junjudees as they have blue-grey faces and are shorter than average humans in height, but very muscular.

They can be cheeky, sneaky, play tricks on people, steal their stuff. These creatures talk, sounding like small children and/or teenagers, and apparently speak with a dialect similar to aboriginal languages but very fast.

There are different species of Yowie or "Hairy Man", also called Dooligah, and other names. Some are almost human-sized, others much larger.

The Australian β€œBeast Yowie” (3 – 4 metres tall) are very violent, and is known to tear a human limb from limb, or rip a man's head off with brute strength alone. The largestΒ  β€œBeast Yowie” in Australia are said to have six fingers, six toes.

Maybe as I couldn't find a description of it that way, but in every picture I've seen it has saber-teeth.

Vampiric hummingbirds? So in other words, mosquitoes with feathers?

I would love to see that happen.
