(I know I'm jumping ahead a bit here, but i wanted to get this one completed for entry in the Disney-Disney crossover contest jointly run by Disney-fusion and Disney Club [link] I will go back and complete part 3 very soon).

The tough love series are part of a storyline set throughout the disney kingdoms. The story so far...

Malificient and the Wicked Queen (from Snow White) have joined forces and stolen the Black Cauldron. But fighting over who would use it first made their spell go wrong. The Curse expanded out through the disney kingdoms affecting all the menfolk. Those that resisted fell into a coma, those too weak to resist were turned into mindless zombies. It's time for the princesses to take control of their own destinies and should their princes' fall it would be time for some tough love.

Ariel took up her father's Trident to defend her home, she deafeated the Sea Witch on her own and growing fond of power started to learn from her books of black magic. Here she learned of a way to break the curse.

First she needed an arcane power source, and she travelled to Atlantis, recruiting Kida to her cause. They left one of Ariel's sisters as guardian of the lost continent.

They needed someone well versed in languages and lore to decipher the Atlantean Runes in the book, so Ariel and Kida set out to recruit Belle. In the scene above Belle is able to translate the runes and a hidden message appears in the light of Kida's crystal, while Ariel looks on approvingly from the river's edge. And the spirit of Kida's mother looks on unseen from above.
