Its Christmas Time.. wait. A shiny picture on Christmas? What da fuck RarieDash.Well let me explain (for those who wanna images it yourself skip that ^^).Β
Whats important on Christmas? Its the birth of someone who is important for some sort of religion? Maybe. But not for me
and not for the most people out there. Its more a time for taking time. Time for Family, friends and most importantly for yourself.Β
Yes, be a bit selfishly and think about you. Whats up with you and your dreams. Have you success something? Do you still have dreams?
You better have some, dude! Cause dreams are why we are exists. For me its the reason I wake up every morning. Some of my dreams
never come trues, thats for sure. But to have them and think about it give me strength. So hopefully to you too.
So X-mas isnt a only time for gifts and family trouble (oh dear), just think about it.
Scootaloo for me is best example for have a big dream that no pony else have. Thats why I made this picture. There may more hidden reasons.

The thing that captures the viewer's attention first is the centre area. The way the lighting has been made does this very well, but it does not put the focus directly onto the main objects of the artwork, the two pegasi. It seems to rather put the focus on the end of the rainbow tail, as that is where the light originates from. The technique used is one familiar with the artist (it is the main style of the artist), therefore I cannot score it higher than 3/5.
Focussing on Scootaloo in the bottom right corner, her facial expression makes it that it doesn't look like she is actually sleeping. It may also have something to do with the position of the ear.
Lastly, the colours on the edges are (I think) supposed to give a feeling of night, but they are, in my opinion, too bright. This also affects the 'sleeping' Scootaloo, as it seems too bright around that area of the artwork.
I find the expression on Rainbow Dash very fitting and it makes her look caring and proud. Luna's expression is also very well made as it makes her look content and peaceful. The usage of contrast with light and dark works really well and puts more focus to the centre area.
All-in-all I find it a very enjoyable artwork, and I added it to my favourites.
Try to play more with light and how you can make a viewers eyes focus on certain areas with the lines they can create.

Interesting critique, that I cannot agree in most points. But Im fine with it.
First cause I follow my style giving me a full score? Seems strange but if you say so, okay. I dont see that as a lack of skill.
To Scoots expression, you dont have seen many people sleeping, havent you? I saw a lot some talking, some smiling, some looks fearfull or less painfull expression. But they all sleeps. The ears rlly must go down by sleep? Okay I dont think so but nip picking as always.
To lighting.
I tested some different ways, like put scoot darker but it always looks strange and not right for me. To set some areas darker will destroy focus on the hole artwork. A moreΒ steady range of color and light will moreΒ guaranteeΒ to watchΒ twice on this artwork.Β
So dont get me wrong. Its your opinion and crit and I requests feedback as always. But I cannot agree with it. But I will display it. Cause I love discussions.

I am glad you took my critique in stride. I do not often write critiques though and I tried to be a objective as I possibly could, therefore also the nip-picking
Although when I become subjective all I can say is: "Amazing." I really love your artwork and I don't come across this style very often, almost never really. So my feelings say AWESOME, but a critique is a critique and I try to point out the things that you 'may' be able to improve. I do not try to degrade it at all, I just want to give support (in a maybe bit harsh way, but that's critique).

I love this one a lot too :D Sleepless in Ponyville might be my favorite in-season episode ever, it was SO emotional and powerful for me... So I love those two and their relationship a lot.
About what you wrote in the description, you're so right! It's so hard to live by the day and wake up every morning, but when you have dreams, you can cling on them and it gives you strength.
My dream would be to travel to Equestria ^^ I've got my own reasons and "hints" (from first-hand experiences), but I believe that it may be achievable, in some way, in this life. And Luna knows I'm faithful ^^

Christmas is most importantly being with your loved ones: can be your family, your friends, both... Whatever the religion you are in.
If you feel bad about the gifts, well... give the money for the gifts as donations or ask for you gift to be one to an organization you care or of their choice.
About the artwork now. I love to see these three together. I affection Luna, Twilight and Rainbow the most and Scoots among the CMCs. So, I can tell how much I like this piece. No I dont have watched it before. Cause Im not a big fan from this 3D Pony style, they mostly looks a bit creepy for me. But I like what Valve does with the source movie maker. And that people can play around with that great tool. Its funny to see this idea, whats rlly fit to my picture, in an animition :3
Episode 5 of season 4 was the main reason for my picture. And explain the main reason why scoot cant fly. Her wings are to tiny at the moment. So its not a lack of knowledge its a physical impairment, but
