Personality:
+ Compassionate + Dedicated + Tactful
= Serious = Motherly = Meticulous
- Stubborn - Antisocial - Over-working

Claudia is a woman more dedicated to her work than she is to breathing and eating- and she shares this dedication to every task she sets herself to. She often comes off as cold, serious, shut off to the outside world, particularly when she's involved in her work. Underneath this antisocial, neutral exterior is a center that cares more for the well-beings and happiness of others than her own health, something that's not particularly well hidden. Claudia's incredible caring, and often rather motherly, particularly around younger members. With this soft spot for children is a sense of lightheartedness and humor, most easily dug up by them. This soft, humorous part of herself is tucked away much more carefully, but it too can shine through with those she's more comfortable with. But Claudia is incredibly careful, both with her work, and what she says and when- she much prefers to quietly observe and think, before she speaks on something.

Home Island: Diamond

Home Town: Solstice Kingdom
       >The kingdom of Solstice was a bustling, small land in Diamond island, south of the Diamond Mines. It was well known for its festivals, mostly it month long Christmas festival. The people of Solstice were a happy people, prosperous and jolly, much like their generous and beloved king. This old kingdom would fall just a few years prior to the current time due to a fire of mysterious origin that wiped most of Solstice off the map.

History: [TW: family death]
Claudia was born to two Whimsicotts, in the winter wonderland of Solstice Kingdom. The King and Queen had a reputation of being kind and giving, and caring for their citizens, and that spread to their people, creating a tightknit community. Claudia's parents, Manuel and Isabelle Torres, were included- the duo ran their own bakery, a place well-known for opening their arms to the less fortunate and giving to those who needed it. The two were well-liked in the community, and so the news of Claudia's arrival was taken with a wave of excitement. As popular, and busy, as her parents were, Claudia was damn near raised by community, always had someone to greet her with a warm smile and open arms. The compassion of the community soon spread to the Cottonee, even as young as she was. Growing up, she was always eager to care for those younger for her, the first on the scene to help when a peer was upset or injured. The Cottonee would grow into the model student as well, well-disciplined and incredibly focused on her studies. The community that was nearly her second family had high hopes for her, all expected her to grow into an accomplished woman.

As she grew and entered the higher grades, she soon became aware of the community's high expectations, and though she knew they were out of love, she soon felt the pressure of these expectations. But she couldn't let herself fail, let herself disappoint her friends and family. She doubled down on her studies, took on extra-curricular work, extra classes. Her social life began to suffer, but this was for her Kingdom, her second family, this sacrifice was worth making. Claudia worked herself to the bone, hardly had a spare moment to herself, but this all paid off, as she graduated two years early. She basked in the pride and love of the community that'd raised her, the pride of her parents, as she finally graduated, grades damn near perfect.

The question now was, what did she want to do? How could she give back to the loving Kingdom that had raised her, supported her at every turn? Her solution was one she'd had in the back of her mind for years- become a doctor. There were never too many doctors in the Kingdom, this was the best way she could give, and care for her family. And so, the following fall, she sailed off to Tincaster, with its much more modern medicine, and rather expensive schools. Now that she was growing into a young adult, her dedication to her studies only multiplied. Her social life had long since been left behind, a much more serious, and rather snarky persona building as she buried herself in her studies. Any free time she might've had was only spent studying more, keeping her closed off to most opportunities at friendship, with very, Very few exceptions. As long, and gruesome, and exhausting as school was, it was once again, incredibly gratifying to finally finish school, and become a full fledged doctor.

With her new degree and years of studies under her belt, she sailed back to Solstice Kingdom, and, as one last gift from the community that'd raised her, was granted a small workshop to open as her own, and begin her work as a doctor. These years were some of the best, working with the community so closely, being able to mend them when they were ill. It was more gratifying than anything, to finally care for the Kingdom that'd cared for her, even in such a small shop, when money could be so tight. Her reputation growing up was what gave her business initially, but even after developing such a serious, somewhat cold external, her reputation only grew into someone willing to care for any and all, especially to those who couldn't afford it. Her small clinic's reputation only grew and grew, keeping her busy, and satisfied. Busy had long since become her norm, she was perfectly content to work herself to the bone so long as she could see as many people made well as she could.

It wasn't long before her reputation reached the ears of the King and Queen themselves. Claudia, who'd been so used to her humble work, never expected anything more, was shocked to receive an invitation to become the Royal Family's physician, for them and their two children, Heath and Faye, as well as those who worked at the palace. She was hesitant to accept- how could she give to her community from so high up? But her friends and family were only encouraging- this was an opportunity of a lifetime! So, with a little bit of a push, Claudia accepted the invitation, and moved from her humble little clinic, to the Palace. It was quite a change for her, but the Whimsicott was nothing if not determined to adjust and succeed. She soon became acquainted with the Royal Family, particularly with Heath and Faye, as well as the employees of the palace. Everyone was so welcoming, so quick to befriend her, make sure she was adjusted and felt at home. And though she'd always been far too busy for close friends, she found it nearly impossible, to befriend all those she lived and worked with now. The staff were quickly considered friends, damn near every one of them. And though she'd been rather intimidated by their status, she quickly considered the King and Queen friends as well- it was hard not to, with how open and friendly they were. Their two children, however, grew to be the closest to her heart. Young Faye was the first she found herself impossibly attached to, but Heath wasn't far behind. Besides the occasional medical work she did with them, she often spent her free time with them- or found them spending their free time with her. She soon considered them just as much family as her own parents. As the years passed, she only found herself loving them more and more- they cracked her cold, hard shell, drew out the caring, motherly, good-humored part of her. She was more content in life than she'd ever imagined.

However, it wouldn't last. Claudia was out of town, just for a few days, just to trade supplies in Diamond Port, when disaster struck. She returned to find the Kingdom, her home, had been burned down. The casualties were unbearably high- numerous friends, coworkers had been lost, including her own parents. The home she'd grown up in was burned to the ground, even the old clinic she'd made so many memories in. Everything was lost. In almost a daze, she wandered to what was left of the palace, and found only more tragedy. The King and Queen had been lost as well- and had left behind their two children. Though Heath was grown by now, Faye was still so young, and now an orphan. The rumors, news that this was arson, purposeful, was truly the cherry on top. Claudia couldn't help but feel like she could've stopped this, somehow, if she'd been here. She could've saved more, could've.. No, there was no point in wallowing in 'What ifs.' Not when so many had still lived, but were injured. Not when there were still so many she could help. What remained of the Kingdom took shelter, and there, her work resumed once more. Pushing aside any care for herself, Claudia did her damnedest to put her people back together, make sure they were alright. And Heath and Faye, she took them under her own wings, watched over them as if they were her own children, despite the older being close to her own age. She had to be there for them, be their rock.

As Heath recovered, he took over his kingdom- too soon, Claudia couldn't help but think. He wasn't ready, didn't deserve to carry this burden yet. But Heath was clearly determined. Determined, and vengeful, for the Kingdom that'd been ruined so intentionally. As Heath turned the remains into a jewelery business, dealing as the middle man between miners and jewelers, she was close behind him, careful to support him wherever she could. She took care of Faye as if she were her own, as Heath worked. Heath, however, was becoming a cold man, bent on revenge. It was worrisome- but it was hardly her place to say anything. He'd lost nearly everything. So, she kept quiet, following him and Faye as they traveled, as a caretaker and as guidance for his new work. For five years, the trio were on their own, and Claudia tried her best to be what Heath and Faye needed her to be, despite how out of her depth she was now.

The disaster was another unexpected twist in their fate. Though this disaster was far more widespread, much worse to go through, thankfully, the little trio and Heath's business suffered very little. As the storms ebbed, and the ground stopped shaking, Claudia found herself once again with too much work for her single pair of hands- and this time, far too little time. Heath's work sent the trio travelling, and often, and though Claudia did her best to patch up anyone who needed it wherever they went, she found herself feeling as if she could hardly make a dent in all this work. Whenever she felt she was making progress, Heath was ready to move on, leaving her feeling as if she wasn't doing enough. But she kept this to herself. Heath had enough to worry about- this disaster seemed to be affecting him, in odd ways. She was growing more and more concerned for him, but found it a struggle to even try to mention it. She just continued to keep quiet, do what work she could as they traveled.

Claudia had heard plenty about the Guilds as they arose, and made reputations for themselves. From patients, Heath's business partners, over the radio when they were nearby. They seemed to be doing good work- perhaps they were in over their heads, but everyone was, the world was falling to ruin. The Whimsicott found herself wishing she could join such a cause, maybe put some sort of real work into putting everything back together. But she couldn't abandon Heath and Faye, and Heath seemed to be more invested in work than the Guilds. It was a surprise, then, when he announced to her his desire to join Everstone's Guild. Though she didn't know his reasons, this came as a relief to her. Everstone seemed the most involved- this was clearly the best place to put in work. Claudia was quick to agree, and the trio set off for Everstone, to join it's guild.
