thank you. i didnt use any technique like that. personally i try to keep my photoshop usage to the bare minimum (curves, usm, maybe a touch of saturation, border etc).
this shot was taken on a 20d, 10mm (effective: 16mm), f9, iso 200, shutter 30secs (the longest it will go without using bulb mode). and a tripod of course.

thanks! not a lot to it, keep your iso low, set your shutter speed long, and use a tripod.
if your camera has a mirror lockup function (if youre using a slr), use that as well.
hope you get some good shots

Great picture, great composition. I like the two sides, blue and calm, and on the other side still colourful, buzzing and busy.

wow this has to be one of my favourite shots ever, i love the fog, how straigh the light trails are, and most of all the star shine on the moon, beautifull

heh, your to modest, isn't that always the case with photography, i find that a bit of luck is what usually makes or breaks a shot.

luck plays its part, but so does knowing what to do with it. and you need a bit of both to create something nifty

beautiful picture.. it looks almost too perfect to be a photo. :] I like how that tree/bush/thing acts as a divider, and both elements sort of come off of it. nice shot! and shane's a silly fool.. don't listen to him.

I think I'd like it more with the road cropped out of the picture. The two light sources seem to be competeing against each other. Otherwise it's a really neat picture. Was the moon pohotshopped?

no, this was how it was shot. thats kind of the way i wanted it, the sleepy country on one side, busy city on the other. i have some others of the two elements isolated, might post them
