Somewhere on DA I saw a guy who once in a while went back to a favorite photo of his and retouched it according to his current taste and skill. Just to see if he’d make progress since last time. I thought that was a fabulous idea. Funny how a photo is not only a frosen moment in time, its also a frozen example of the style you had in that particular period. Lately I’ve been into muting the colors and light, sort of making the photos appear as visions so dark, you were lucky to catch a glimpse of it before it was swallowed by pitch black eternal night.Ever since submitting “splash” it’s been the photo I’ve received the friendliest notes/mails about. Since it has never been on the frontpage, all the 163 people who has
'ed it has been hardworking gallery-browsers. So this is a revised ‘deluxe’ version dedicated to this endangered species 
Those who make an effort to seek out new work and artists instead of just dwelling on their stale watchlists.

i fell for the frosen motion on the thumbnail, then discovered the beauty of the crystal clear and sharp water. i'm almost obsessed with extreme sharpness.

i love this picture, cos my father once did a shot like this from my mother... and wow, it's always amazing how the hairs are looking and all the water... you did a great job

Muted colours and dark lighting is a style I like. This one is especially interesting with the water frozen the way it is, at first it appears full of motion, but the longer you look, the more you notice how it's frosen in time and then seems so much more still.

At first I've thinkin' that the photography is just simply beautifull... but now after reading the description I think that your words are as beautiful as this picture...
I don't know if I know such good words to say how much I love this deviation... I would never saw it if it was in your gallery deeply covered by many new deviations. I usually don't have a time 2 watch all old works of the ppl I do watch now... and the number of this ppl is still growing... good from one side but bod from another, huh... anyway... I'm speachless now... I really can;t find some good words... and I'm very tired after the long day of hard work... so don't be angry if I would just give a fav here and go sleep... my eyes are closing and I'm trying to stay conscious but it's hard now so... oh well, goodnight and congratulations that you had DD today... It stirs a memory within me.
My grandma had a painting on her bedroom wall...not the
same subject matter...but the same colors...with a splash of water.
I am going to have to ask my dad about that painting...and find out
what happened to it...remind me more about it.
I would stand and stare at it when I was a child....
I sit and stare at yours....its pretty damn cool!

This is stunning! I followed a link from Chaotic Paradise's journal to your photo 'The Tower' ad then started browsing. I came back to this shot after I'd looked at some of your gallery because I knew I was going to love it, just wanted to looka t some other stuff before I got overwhelmed by it

Lars, just dropping by again to continue my trek through your gallery. So I came across the first version of this, but I liked this version a little better and gave myself permission to jump ahead temporarily to fav this piece. There's so much energy in this piece. Each droplet is just gleaming, and the muted tones really bring that out. It's altogether aesthetically pleasing. 423 favs already, but I think can use one more
