Description Here is a *finally painted* version of the sculpture I did ages ago of my rabbit character, Peet.

The medium: Sculpy! Wire-frame underneath (though not much of one since he's tiny). The goal with this was to focus on how the character looks from all angles. I'm not totally happy with the front view, but I'm very happy with both sides and the back. Though its not unusual for frontviews of some cartoon characters to look strange, I was hoping to avoid it.

Paint is acrylic--with a coating of Gloss Fimo glaze over the eyes and teeth.

Of course, even now he's missing the tie that I made for him. Buuuut I'll pop it on when I find it as I am not too thrilled with making another one.

Peetrick (c) Raven M. Molisee

I feel weird commenting because I've never seen the character but this is a really great job!

When I saw the in-progress stuff, I thought he was a lot bigger, so I was a little shocked to see the size comparison to your hand. XD Anyway, lovely job!

Thanks! Fellow sculptor! Ha. Sabrina (or.. Sibsy rather? LoL) showed me the pics of that WildFire piece you did. Can't wait to swing by her place and check it out in person cuz it looks *fantastic*.

Fellow sculptor... heh. I'm more like a weekend amateur who's has a bit of luck on his side. I am looking forward to trying a whole character as some point, and not just making hair for a toy.

I would love to see it if you did. You have a valuable trait: patience. The fact that you're willing to redo things over and over is all you need! lol

LOL! I do have plenty of patience, but I'm also cursed with a wandering attention span and a lack of time. As it is, I'm amazed that I've stayed on track for as long as I have with this project-- the variety of hair that I've done is probably helping in that regard.

How much time did you put into sculpting Peet? I spend a lot of time trying to conceptualize the characters in 3D before I start, and have a lot of false starts experimenting with what might work-- Because Peet is your creation, did you start with a very good idea of how he would come together, or did it hinder you because you had to get everything exactly right?

Its an oven-bake clay--very versatile stuff. You can pick it up at most craft/hobby or art stores.

duuuude that's fantastic! I love all the detail and the fact that he looks right from all angles (I've had that problem before). It makes me want to put my sculpey to better use.

You should! Takes some time, but its usually worth it to have your own custom object sitting before your eyes.
