You might recognize the picture....I used the picture on the cover of my "Jeepers Creepers" (thus the J.C.) video as the example for the FIRST EVER acrylic painting that I have done. Using acrylics is very different, I have found, than using the beloved oils that I usually use.Happy Halloween, everyone!!!!!!!!

The whole atmosphere of the first movie was wonderful and unique, I thought! the interaction between the brother and sister while they were running from something out of hell. It all just had some sort of reality to it that made me all anxious for them

And the director would probably say "Mission accomplished". Yes, that element of character gave the movie a much more 'real' feel to it.

Great work on the shading! This piece is so wonderfully done, yet i can't quite say what makes it so great.... it's just the whole gigantuous lovliness of it.

I'd say this is one of your best works. In a way it's rather simple, but it's very powerful. It looks like you mastered the tools, too. I've mostly been working with acrylics, but I'd rather use oil paints.

Yes, oils are my first and best love. They are so easy and forgiving, it seems. They are perfectly suited to my painting style. So, when i used acrylics for this one, i became frustrated frequently and almost gave up. The painting was kind of a trial run for the medium because i am going to do a studio art project for Art class and thought i should familiarize myself with it.
Hopefully, i will have the patience to see the whole thing through and to paint a much larger picture.

Beautiful! Such a delicate light and treatment of colour!! I'm even more impressed that you painted this with acrylic. I find the medium unmanagable. You seem to have whipped these acrylics right into shape though

Thank you so much for the kind words. i had a terrible time trying to get the paint thick enough to go on smoothly and not appear to be painted impasto. my style just isn't impasto friendly....heh.
