For this year's FYeahGhostTrick Ghost Swap over on Tumblr my partner Kamil-a wanted to see Emma at the launch of latest romance novel, and all the fun characters who would be there to get their copy signed I wanted to cram so many characters into this picture, but I only had so much time to do it, so I stuck to some old favourites and a few I thought would look funny in line.
Yes, turns out Dandy is a huge fan of Ms Emma’s work. He honestly reads it for the romantic elements and he genuinely chuffed about getting his book signed.
My headcannon is that Alma and Emma are besties and Alma always buys Emma’s new books because she genuinely enjoys reading them however silly they are. Jowd is just there to show support/watch the fun.
I don’t see Lynne being much of a reader, but Kamil-a’s other suggestions included more Lynne/Memry stuff, and yeah they totally need to hang out more. Poor Memry was hoping to be able to sneak in and get her book signed without being noticed, but not only did she run into Lynne who draws attention like picnics draw ants, but also BOTH her superiors are randomly there and probably judging her (they’re not, honest). Lynne is 100% oblivious to Memry’s distress, and also to what this book is about. Missile is just happy to be included.
Again Cabs isn’t much of a casual reader but if Jowd and Alma are doing a thing he HAS to do the thing also. To keep them safe. Plus being a loyal patron of the Justice Minister’s wife’s novels should net him a few brownie points and topics of conversation for the future. ;D Also it means he can have a shopping date with LoveyDove; because even birbs need a break from their husbands to go buy saucy romance novels sometimes.
Kamila and Amelia are probably learning things from that book that they shouldn’t. Sissel wouldn’t know because Sissel can’t read.

....and yes I had way too much fun mocking up that fake book cover. It’s called ‘Knock if you Love Me’...it’s a steamy romance set against the backdrop of ouija boards.
