Description Name: Søren
Location: Uruhus
Specialty Type: Flying
Gym Team: Hikite (Lv. 13), Fasigan (Lv. 14), Bubbelch (Lv. 15)
Battle University Team (Singles): Stormigan, Drakite, Barnagans, Blowhound, Bubbelch, Unfezant (male, Mega)
Battle University Team (Doubles): Stormigan, Drakite, Unfezant, Bubbelch, Barnagans, Blowhound (Dual)
Badge: Liftoff Badge
TM Rewarded: TM349 Glide- Catching a breeze, the user attacks the target. The lift from the breeze raises the user's speed stat.
"Trainers, this is your Gym Leader speaking. My name is Søren, and I'll be your pilot today. Today's flight to the Pokemon League might be a rough one, so please ensure your seatbelts are buckled and you're prepared for any turbulence. I know there are a lot of choices out there, so I'd like to thank you for flying with the Uruhus Gym!"
Søren is an extremely experienced pilot with years under his belt with both military and civilian aircraft, ranging from rescue helicopters to airliners. As a result, he naturally developed quite a closeness with Flying type Pokemon. While stern, he's very welcoming to challengers at his gym, most of whom are beginning trainers who may need advice or encouragement. The airport in Uruhus houses his gym in a now-unused control tower, which consists of a fairly straightforward upward climb to face him with trainers to be challenged along the way. After the battle, check out the amusement park in Uruhus too- some of the rides are of his design!

Name: Hans
Location: Reithavn
Specialty Type: Fairy
Gym Team: Freyvn (Lv. 20), Norican Floette (Lv. 20), Tralviss (Lv. 22)
Battle University Team (Singles): Norican Appletun, Florelei, Sacchrosanct, Valhalkyrie, Mountroll, Aromatisse (Mega)
Battle University Team (Doubles): Norican Appletun, Aromatisse, Florelei, Mountroll, Sacchrosanct, Valhalkyrie (Dual)
Badge: Fable Badge
TM Rewarded: TM350 Magic Switch- The user rushes its target with a magical force, then poofs away to switch places with a party Pokemon in waiting.
"Well hello! You must be our challenger today. I've been awaiting you! My name is Hans, and as you may have figured out from the gym so far, I train the Fairy type! For many years I have studied and collected folklore and fairytales from across not just Norica but other nearby regions as well, and I must say there is no type tied quite as much to the tapestry of human folklore as Fairy! Many assume Fairy types just to be cute or harmless, but I know very well from my studies and travels they can be much to the contrary- allow me to show you!"
Hans is a well-known folklorist who has collected and examined folklore from all around, delving into similarities, potential origins, and truths behind the fables. Much of his work can be found in the library in Ansuborg, and he's well versed in the legends of Norica's ancient past, though he himself more collects and studies the legends than actually tells them. He tends to an antique mansion that sits in a park on Reithavn's central promenade, and he has made it into his gym as well, with challengers traversing a puzzle of riddles found in books throughout the mansion in order to reach him in the mansion's study.

Name: Ylva
Location: Iskaup
Specialty Type: Water
Gym Team: Squigawatt (Lv. 28), Cachmore (Lv. 28), Kaistremming (Lv. 31)
Battle University Team (Singles): Isluth, Barraskewda, Torebraken, Mobiathan, Kaistremming, Wailord (Mega)
Battle University Team (Doubles): Isluth, Wailord, Torebraken, Mobiathan, Kaistremming, Barraskewda (Dual)
Badge: Vessel Badge
TM Rewarded: TM351 Drag Away- The user washes away the target's held item, and that item can't be used in that battle. The move does more damage if the target has a held item.
"Oh, a challenger? My name is Ylva, and I'm the Gym Leader here, at least when I'm not too busy with the shipyards and harbor... Not to say I don't like my work there but it's strenuous stuff. But it's definitely strengthened both myself and my Water Pokemon! So get read to be washed away!"
Ylva, though young, is a commanding presence in Iskaup's harbor as a boatswain and sailor, outperforming sailors twice her age. She's been sailing since she was a child and has honed her skills both on the sea and in Pokemon battle for about her whole life. She's also extremely knowledgeable about ships in general, and the Iskaup Ship Museum, a museum dedicated to ancient longships of the Norica region, serves as her gym. In that gym, challengers traverse a maze of longships and oars that work like seesaws.

Name: Brigid
Location: Pertson
Specialty Type: Fire
Gym Team: Tyrañero (Lv. 34), Norican Gogoat (Lv. 35), Dachsinge (Lv. 35), Dynamight (Lv. 36)
Battle University Team (Singles): Luscifer, Tyrañero, Dachsinge, Norican Gogoat, Dynamight, Turtonator (Mega)
Battle University Team (Doubles): Luscifer, Tyrañero, Turtonator, Norican Gogoat, Dachsinge, Dynamight (Dual)
Badge: Firework Badge
TM Rewarded: Fireworks- The user launches a magnificent pyrotechnics display into the sky on the first turn, distracting and lowering the evasiveness of the targets. On the second turn, the smoldering remains of the display crash down on the targets, possibly inflicting them with burns.
"Hey, watch out there! We produce fireworks here, this isn't a safe place for a kid like you! Hm? I'm not much older than you are? That's true actually! Fair point! Anyway I'm Brigid, the Gym Leader here in Pertson! Did you see that giant straw Gogoat in the town square? Let me tell you a bit about it, every winter here we've got a big straw Gogoat like that built, we light up some fireworks, and then we burn it to the ground with our own Gogoat! Guess who's in charge of the festival each year right now? Yep, yours truly! My Gogoat leads the charge and sets that effigy ablaze! I produce the fireworks for it right here in this factory too! Oh yeah, and I do the organization stuff too. But the fire and fireworks, those are the parts that everyone loves! So let's start this battle and burn down this battlefield too!"
In the city of Pertson, every winter a large straw effigy of a Norican Gogoat is assembled. Fireworks are set off to illuminate the dark winter sky, and then local trainers with Norican Gogoat of their own burn the effigy to the ground. It's a long standing tradition, and the town's Gym Leader always has been directly involved, but as a Fire type specialist with a love of explosions, flames, and pyrotechnics, Brigid is more involved in the festival than any Gym Leader before her. She's a master of pyrotechnics and can set up the most impressive displays in the region, in part thanks to her secret techniques for mixing just the right chemicals using materials she gathers on Surtr Isle from the volcano. Her personality is just as fiery as her pyrotechnics, and she's very much a risk taker, though she still at least takes the necessary precautions when working with fire- usually. Her gym presents challengers with a maze of intermittent jets of flames that erupt on a timer, necessitating speed and precision from those hoping to reach her- seems kind of dangerous in a fireworks factory though.

Name: Ragnar
Location: Matvik
Specialty Type: Dragon
Gym Team: Chestaux (Lv. 38), Obsidigon (Lv. 38), Drakknarr (Lv. 39), Drakite (Dual, Lv. 40)
Battle University Team (Singles): Chestaux, Obsidigon, Norican Flapple, Drakknarr, Drakite, Dragapult (Mega)
Battle University Team (Doubles): Obsidigon, Chestaux, Dragapult, Norican Flapple, Drakknarr, Drakite (Dual)
Badge: Lair Badge
TM Rewarded: TM353 Medieval Blade- The user slashes at its target with a mighty blade infused with a mythic power. Critical hits land more easily.
"So you did come. When I met you out in the mountains I thought you had the right resolve to, but a single little doubt nagged at me. I'm glad to see that doubt was wrong to hold. Let me introduce myself properly this time. My name is Ragnar and I serve as Matvik's Gym Leader. I'm not much for people, or towns and cities, or any of those types of things, so I'm usually where you ran into me before, in the Hrimnir Range where it connects with Route 17. I seclude myself out in the mountains with my Pokemon to hone our bonds and skills as deeply as possible and away from any possible distractions. It's been a little while since my last challenger showed up to face me so let's see how the fruits of my labor pan out."
While he may look disheveled, Ragnar is an incredibly skilled and devoted trainer, owing to his intensive training regimen in the mountains. While he is the Gym Leader of Matvik, he actually only is in town as needed for facing against challengers, withdrawing into the wilderness with his Dragon type Pokemon otherwise. This has made his wit sharp, his body strong, and his bonds with his Pokemon fiercely close, all in spite of him being substantially younger than he looks- he's actually only in his late 20s, though even he doesn't seem to have committed his exact birthday or age to memory. An ancient church in Matvik serves as his gym, with the elaborate stained glass windows and mosaics filling the darkened building with dappled light of various colors and trainers awaiting challengers should the lights fall on them.

Name: Torvald
Location: Jaerlag
Specialty Type: Electric
Gym Team: Festiwoodo (Lv. 41), Lausersted (Lv. 41), Stormigan (Lv. 42), Cariboom (Dual, Lv. 42)
Battle University Team (Singles): Stormigan, Festiwoodo, Tanezumi (Summer), Lausersted, Cariboom, Electrode (Mega)
Battle University Team (Doubles): Electrode, Tanezumi (Summer), Festiwoodo, Lausersted, Stormigan, Cariboom (Dual)
Badge: Strike Badge
TM Rewarded: TM354 Magnetic Shield- The user surrounds itself in a powerful electromagnetic field to protect itself from damage. It also paralyzes any attacker who makes direct contact.
"Oh, we met in passing back at Jarnsaxa Ironworks, if I'm not mistaken! I should have expected a promising trainer like yourself to make it here to the Jaerlag Gym! I don't think I got the chance to give you a proper introduction then, but I'm Torvald and I'm the Gym Leader. Like I mentioned when I saw you there I used to work there as an engineer until 20 years ago give or take. Since then I've come here to Jaerlag, and with enough hard work I became an instructor her at Jaerlag Tech! I've still got my hammer from the Ironworks though, old habits die hard I suppose. Let's see how you and your team are wired!"
Torvald worked for over 25 years at Jarnsaxa Ironworks as an engineer, but as copper mining at Aurbotha Mine slowed and it eventually closed down, so too did the Ironworks, necessitating a change in plans. Thanks in no small part to Jaerlag Technical Institute, Jaerlag around this same time was developing a reputation as a budding hotspot for engineering and technological development, so Torvald's choice to move there was a natural one. His hardworking nature and natural adaptability led him to easily acclimate to this change, though his hammer, both forged and used at Jarnsaxa Ironworks, still serves as something of a trademark for him. He moved into electrical and mechanical engineering, quickly becoming skilled, and made his way to the position of Jaerlag's Gym Leader. While amiable, he's known to become intense in the heat of battle, often compared to the force of a bolt of lightning. His gym is location within Jaerlag Technical Institute, with blast doors keeping players from reaching him until they can connect the correct wires to disable the blast doors.

Name: Astrid
Location: Yngstjarn (Snær Launch Center)
Specialty Type: Cosmic
Gym Team: Celesteon (Lv. 44), Artemoth (Lv. 44), Anomalogon (Lv. 45), Voretex (Lv. 45), Xanthodeus (Dual, Lv. 46)
Battle University Team (Singles): Celesteon, Artemoth, Anomalogon, Voretex, Xanthodeus, Starmie (Mega)
Battle University Team (Doubles): Celesteon, Starmie, Artemoth, Anomalogon, Voretex, Xanthodeus (Dual)
Badge: Comet Badge
TM Rewarded: TM355 Lunar Beam- A two-turn attack. The user gathers energy from moonbeams, then blasts a bundled beam on the next turn.
"Good, you made it! I'm sorry, the gym is a little bit of a trek outside of town, but it needs to be if we're going to get just the right view of the stars. Which is also why I insisted our battle be at night, I hope that wasn't an inconvenience at all! Beautiful, aren't they? Whether they're the lights of our ancestors or the suns of other worlds, it doesn't change the mystique they have, or their ethereal feeling. That's why my gym is here at the space center, it brings my battles closer to the stars and all their mystery. So let's have a battle that can be felt all the way from the North Star!"
Astrid is a shamaness of a long lineage of people who inhabited much of Norica and its neighbor to the east Tähtila long before either was inhabited by the people now associated with these regions. Before even the kings of Norica who are spoken of in legend or the intense winter a thousand years ago, Astrid's ancestors lived here. She has inherited the various ancient traditions of the area that predate the earliest Norican culture, and carries them down to this day, holding an extremely close and distinct connection to her ancestors and to the Pokemon of the area both past and present. She divines and travels with the help of her Pokemon and the light of the stars, effortlessly traversing the vast expanse of land that surrounds Yngstjarn and the Snær Launch Center as though it's a simple walk down the road, and the deep connection she holds to her ancestral roots in the land can be felt through her voice and instruments as she engages in ancient traditional chants and dances. She has many connections to Tähtila, with her hometown actually being just over the line between it and Norica, and often travels between the two regions, guided by the stars on dark polar nights. She has deeply caring personality, aiming to use her rituals and traditions to help people and Pokemon in need, and is a kindly young woman whose close connection with both her Pokemon and her homeland have brought her to the position of Gym Leader. The Yngstjarn Gym is not technically located in the town itself, but rather in an offshoot of the nearby space center, and has a puzzle in which challengers must follow specific stars above the darkened gym's clear glass roof in order to reach her.

Name: Snorri
Location: Othalfjor
Specialty Type: Ice
Gym Team: Aurorbat (Lv. 49), Icicorn (Lv. 49), Norican Houndoom (Lv. 50), Tentakrak (Lv. 51), Lapras (Dual, Lv. 52)
Battle University Team (Singles): Aurorbat, Icicorn, Norican Houndoom, Tentakrak, Lapras, Cryogonal (Mega)
Battle University Team (Doubles): Aurorbat, Cryogonal, Icicorn, Norican Houndoom, Tentakrak, Lapras (Dual)
Badge: Icecap Badge
TM Rewarded: TM356 Deep Freeze- The user envelops its targets in a bitter, biting cold that intensifies over time, with the likelihood of the targets freezing increasing with each consecutive use. Fire type moves will not be able to thaw out foes frozen by this move.
"Good of you to come, [PLAYER]. Please, allow me to once again offer my thanks for your actions. Were it not for you and your dear Pokemon, we might well be gripped by the final winter. But... you are not here today before me for that. You are here before me as a Pokemon Trainer, and quite a skilled one at that. So let's forgo these pretenses, shall we? Show me the might you and your partners have that brought forth Gungfiolos."
A storyteller versed in the ancient history and myths of Norica, Snorri lives a quiet life in Othalfjor, the northernmost town in mainland Norica, surrounded in his home by various codices, tomes, and texts, some of his own translation from their original language and others still written in the ancient words. He is most invested in tales regarding the region's mighty legendary Pokemon and how they interacted with the people and Pokemon of the region. He gets on well with Hans as one might expect but the two do have very different focuses in their studies, with Snorri's being more based in history and Hans' being more oriented around specific folktales. In spite of his great age, Snorri also maintains the Othalfjor Lighthouse, which serves as the town's gym and has had the roof modified to be fully clear for the Northern Lights to shine over his battles with challengers. Those who seek to challenge him will have to traverse the interior of the lighthouse and light a signal atop it, crossing icy floors and battling trainers on their way.
