Hi! I deside to try new techincs. It's paint and overpaint with some matte. I hope you like it.

I found the original picture that work or beauty was based off of. The original or the reference you used was really dull and dark. I really like the futuristic aspects of the helmet. One thing that was a little off was the M249 SAW weapon. Its more modern than anything else. Maybe adding some "futuristic" aspects to the weapon would really set the tone. I know you can't really do much with an overpainting too much without messing it up but I imagine you are talented enough to do it.

Yeah I am sure with the way you made the helmet and such you could become a really good Futuristic Military artist. I always have been interested in Modern and Futuristic military aspects. Such as Exo Suits, lazer weapons, ect.

great job ...no critique intended, but what i dont get is when its a manipulation & when it becomes a paint when your base/texture on both is a photo, i mean u changed it a fair amount but a paint is done on a white canvas in my book....however
incase u used the photo only 4 reference this comment makes no sense.... its cool anyway

You take the reference photo and overpaint it - reconstruct the body and detail to make something that you need.

Manipulation is editing what's already there, be it color or form. Overpaint is replacing it with something completely new...painting over.
Manipulation is like changing the color of your house. Overpaint is graffiti to make it look like there's a Ferrari parked in the driveway.

I'm trying to work out where his eyes should be... He has a bird like expression and I find the lack of facial features to be slightly freaky (in a good way).
(I would be interested to know what the original image looked like for comparison)
