Description

The day was fresh and bright as Notte was led in the direction of the ring. The birds twittered in the distance and a soft breeze blew, carrying with it the faint smell of a distant shore. Her raven-haired rider stopped her at the gate and then mounted, gently landing on her back. She liked this man, and over the past couple of days they had grown closer through grooming and short walks. This was their first day of riding together.

After a lap around the ring with a loose rein, the man asked Notte to pick up a trot. She complied, and they continued through the center in a large circle. That's when she smelled it, and her ears pinned as she snorted. By it, of course she meant the Nightmare.

The slobbering witch stepped into the arena, orbs in tow, mounted by a girl with a length of red hair. Notte was spotted immediately, she was the only other in the ring, and the aubergine mare made every attempt to inch closer to her.

"How ya been, Nordie? Haven't seen you in a while." It was true. Her rider had noticed the tension between them at the very first moment, and promptly had her moved to a new stall.

"Oh, just fine. Much better, actually. You haven't changed much, still as ugly as ever." Their banter continued through the session, and their riders tried desperately to keep them apart. But after that foul mare tried to nip her on the rump, it was decided to move Notte to the lunging ring to work on the ground.

As she ambled around the small, circular ring, she swore she could hear the Nightmare laughing.

Well I imagined the story to be better, but here is part 2 of 4 of our little story with Dee and poor Notte. The picture turned out about as bad as I expected, but I was to the point where I was done messing with it. The next one will be playing with perspective, so prepare your eyes for that. It may be a disaster xD
