Description: Pidgeot are huge birds, that live in an enormous territory. A couple of Pidgeot live together in this territory. Pidgeot will stay together until one of the partners dies: the surviver will then look for a new partner. The perfect habitat for Pidgeot is open plains near a large lake, not too far from some large trees or mountains where it can build it's nest. Because of the weight of two of these birds, plus that of the nest and eggs, there are few trees that can hold them and they prefer to make their nests on cliffs. Pidgeot's main prey is Magikarp, which it can see splashing around from a great distance. It can carry Magikarp weighing as much as the bird itself. When it plunges down on a prey, it can reach speeds up to 200 km/h, although the reports that this bird can reach Mach 2 are highly exaggerated. The long feathers on it's head are longer and more colourful in male birds than in females. They are used in attracting a mate. In some tribes, Pidgeot's feathers were used to make elaborate costumes. Although it rarely has to defend itself against other pokémon, it can sweep up a sandstorm with just a few flaps of it's wings. It's talons and beak are frightningly strong and sharp, and Pidgeot should always be handled with care. Pidgeot captured in the wild can be very hard to handle, but if the pokémon has been with it's owner since it was a Pidgey, it is usually very loyal. This is because Pidgeot will always remember where their nest is: if that is in the wild, it will constantly try to escape and get back to it. However, if the nest is it's owner's home, it will always come back there. If you want to catch a wild Pidgeot, it helps to catch a couple: they will adjust more easily if their partner is in their new environment as well. Pidgeot are sometimes used in fairs or amusement parks, where the owner offers short flights for small children. Most experts advise against this practice: although the Pidgeot always have a rope around their legs so that their owner can keep it close to the ground, there have been a few incidents in which the Pidgeot attacked the child or even broke it's chains and flew off with the child still on it's back.

Experimenting with a new colour technique that's supposed to show up better in scans. Not perfect yet (colours are not nearly vibrant enough) but getting there.

I’ve never liked pidgeot very much, but this one is gorgeous! I love the intensely black area with those intense bird eyes staring right at me.

(If you want to make the colouring appear more intense on the computer, you can fiddle with a brightness/contrast option in your art-program. Lowering the brightness and increasing the contrast usually work well. But I like your gentle colouring too though!)

Thanks for the tip! I'm convinced that the person who invented scanners never actually used one.

Thank you, I'm rather pleased with this one myself ^^ I think I'll move towards doing more with ink and making the colour less detailed, it's a nice way of working.

^^ That seems like a nice approach, especially if it works well for you. ^^ Keep it up! You're doing great!

xD It would be awesome if you could do every single one... But then again, like you had stated before, some are just beyond making them look realistic... Well, I think you could do it. ^^

xD Heh heh...

Did you know... There are atleast 1,100 of them already made? And of course... the creators are only bringing them out in chunks. You'll be extremely busy for the next few years. XD
