I can't believe it's been more than three years since I made a proper ref sheet for my favourite character... and he's been long overdue for one. Tonta's desperately needed a new reference to demonstrate the significant changes he's had in his appearance ever since I pushed him beyond being merely a fan character into an original creation.For those who don't know, Tonta is one of the main characters from my story-in-progress, Bridges of Light. Outside of that, I also utilize him as a representation for my muse of inspiration and work ethic, hence why he's often drawn with representations of myself, such as my lynx fursona Amber.
...And now that I have a proper reference for him, I can start commissioning others for pictures of him. >w< Yay~
EDIT: Refresh for fixed colours and hex codes. I went to bed, woke up the next morning and found I wasn't quite happy with his skin colour.

And Tonta's fondness for sewing despite his appearance is one of my favourite things about him~ He's learned to work around his big man hands. xD This ref is the first time I've drawn him sewing, actually, and that hand with the needle gave me SO much trouble because of how thick his fingers are.

Haha, thanks! I think the tattoos are my favourite part too~ Some very specialized tattoos do use ink, but they're reserved for a scarce few. x3 I just thought it was more interesting to put symbolic weight into the actual design of the tattoos for a clan, rather than focusing on what colours might mean what like I'd used before. :3
...Also yes, ritually scarring tattoos IS rather badass. xD

BTW, I'm still thinking of an Ahnurth fan char. I'm wondering if the Ounten are skilled with magic or not? I got an intresting idea for a human char, but I do like those rock guys a lot too.

The Ounten can use magic, but it's not typical for them to use it. It really depends on the clan that they come from. Some of the smaller clans do make more use of it than others, and some Ounten who've separated themselves from any specific clan learn to use scribing magic from mage academies and the like, but these are more an exception to the norm. Most Ounten don't need magic to accomplish things in their daily lives that they couldn't do with their own two hands and some hard work, so most don't bother learning how to utilize any magic, or simply don't have the time to dedicate to it.
....Also aw geeze, I totally forgot to send you that note with info on Ahnurthian magic, didn't I? Lemme get that typed up for you proper. xD

Hmm... I see. IDK if I'd try an Ounten mage, but I figured it'd be worth asking.
And were ya? IDK if ya were or went. I just didn't know if u were taking commisions or not, so I didn't ask until I knew for sure. R ya taking them next month? If so, then I'll get to work on a char.

Well, it's safe to say it's possible, but not common. Depends on how much you'd want to think outside the box with that sort of character and make excuses for their ability to use magic in that way. *laugh*
And I was going to, but I'm still actually typing up all that information on magic use and such for my own reference as well as for others, hence why it's gotten delayed so much, but I'll try to give you a summary of it as soon as I'm able to sit down and work it all out. >.o; As for commissions, my plan is to open up for new applications in early October, but that's only if I can get my current list done for September. We'll see what happens! You'll still have some time yet to brainstorm.
