Intentionally obscure movie quote?
Don't feel weird if you've no clue what I'm talking about, most people don't.

Now it's my turn...

You told me recently that I'd taken a shot you yourself had always wanted to take. Now it's my turn.

I see this scenario on a frequent basis (and frequently within a scenario in which I'm not allowed to have a camera), and it's always struck me as very important and very worthy of photography. You know me, I love for shots to have meaning, and this visual "topic" entirely fits the bill.

But you know, I've looked and pondered, and just never been able to "size it up," and figure out how to make it a shot that's visually interesting rather than just conceptually interesting.

So kudos to you for pulling it off. The DOF is flawless, the lack of horizon essential, and, best of all, that's just a perfect capture of the rock crumbling around the growth. Especially the way it's breaking away to the right/the future, and almost/seemingly within the shadow of the life itself.

I don't know how many shots you took of this trying to get it right, but I'm utterly confident you've picked the best one. You've done justice to a subject that's fascinated me, better than I ever could have imagined myself.

One shot.

Taken right after Keep Closed . It was kind of an odd thing. I saw the plant in the ground of the only crack in the road and I just had to take it. So I adjusted my fstops to increase the DOF as much as possible and got as close as I could without losing the focus. It was funny to me that if I moved an 1/8" I lost all focus.

Thank you for your compliments on this and I'm glad I've done justice to this subject for you.

I try and get better with every roll I take, and I pick and learn from your work as well as other deviants. Thank you for that.

Keep taking pictures Thorne, and I can't wait to hear from you again.

I like this, and the concept behind it is very true. No matter what we build or destroy life always adapts and adjusts.

The title remind's me of "Jurrasic Park"...
