I absolutely adore these two, and the relationship they have as sisters. For those unfamiliar, this is Ruby Rose (left) and Yang Xiao Long (right) from the web animated series RWBY. The lyrics in the upper corner are from the song "Gold," off the RWBY Volume 1 OST.This is honestly my first attempt at coloring in the history of ever. Really, I don't think it turned out well at all, but . . . eh, I should at least show my efforts. It gives me a basis to improve upon. (Actually, a lot of the problems are with the lineart, which happened because I was sketching at a much larger scale than I'm used to, and it caused me to lose track of proportions.)

This is great! I've never made the connection between "Gold" and Ruby and Yang's relationship, but now that you bring it up, it's absolutely perfect.

YES THANK YOU THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH you are the first person I've seen to actually acknowledge the relationship these two have. Everyone else is always like " it's okay to ship them guys they're adopted" and it's like they miss out on this amazingly awesome and interesting relationship that's right in front of their faces. Being sisters is a very strong intimate and amazing relationship but I feel like those people totally ignore that so they can go ships ahoy and pair them together in EXTREMELY overused ways. Sorry about the rant but I'm really thankful someone didn't see these two and immediately pair them together. In short I'm glad some fandom members can build on the interesting relationships that already exists instead of being annoying. Also great art and amazing use of the lyrics in the piece... To put it even simpler, YOU ROCK!!!

Yeah, Yang's character was apparently based in part on Barbara Dunkleman, so there really wasn't anyone else they could have cast in the role.
