the best place to start is on this page and check out all the links and resources. read the documentation, and start small and basic, then build up from there. a good knowledge of a graphics program and image files is a must. Unless: you just have a favorite winamp skin you want to use on your QCD -- in which case there is a winamp to QCD converter you'll see on that page.
