Description Piping is super easy and quick to make and is a great trim to use for a variety of projects, from costumes to drapery.  You can purchase cotton piping from most drapery departments, or simply use whatever inexpensive cord you have laying around!  Let me know if you have any questions   And sorry for the not-so-good photos; it's hard to get decent lighting when you sew at night.

I guess as Top trim you put it between the upper fabric and the lining? I'm planing some Larp outfits and it seems to be an easy way to add detail and structure to clothing. How thick should the cord be? May it work when I braid some wool together? I have tons of knitting wool from my Grannies that will never be used anyway (basicly because it has terrible colors^^).
Thanks for the tutorial.

Yeah, it works really well for that, or even between seams.  And the cord that I used was a bit thinner than a pencil, but I think braided wool would work just fine!  As long as it's roughly round in shape.

I've used piping to make pillows before, but I never thought about using it for clothes. What else could you make with it?

I use it in costumes a lot, as a top trim or between seams as an accent.  I know some people use it for drapes and upholstery too.

WOW
That really is super easy... Hmm, maybe one on how you put corsets together?  Or is that too much? XD
