Chapter 5

The Yard

~Earlier~

Sunset was coming, as the blue sky started turn yellow and orange. They had walked down the same path, where the Raptors and humans track had lead. The human tracks were of straight line, all going in the same direction. However, Blue’s and the male raptor was different.

“What were they doing?” Alden said, as he glance at the raptor tracks.

Kilo raised his head from inspecting the tracks, looking at Allen.

“They’re at one side of path and then they’re at the other side.” Alden explained.

Shadow shrugged, “I really don’t know. I really don’t have an explanation. How bout you Kilo?”

Kilo too shrugged, not knowing the answer as well. He continued down the path, not bothering to talk.

Shadow looked skeptical at Kilo, wondering he hadn’t talk through out the rest of the journey. And by looking at Alden, he was wondering the same thing as her.

“You know Kilo, you’ve been very quiet during the trip. A rock for your thoughts?” Shadow asked, nudging her brother shoulder, a faint smile on her lips.

Kilo snorted, smiling at his dear sister. “Why a rock?”

Shadow rolled her eye, a smile now playing on her. “Fiiine! A dead compy if you want.”

Kilo chuckled, earning a laugh from the other both velociraptors.

It was when Shadow stopped, inspecting at the tracks. “Huh?”

Kilo and Alden came to Shadow side, also inspecting the track.

The humans track seemed to stop before turning to a different direction, but the raptor tracks were gone.

Kilo snorted, lowering his head to try to track the scent of Blue and the crazy sent of the male velociraptor. He caught the scent, and followed to where a fallen tree laid. There, a large burrow was under the tree, where the scent seemed strong. Kilo grunted.

“They must have hid to lose the humans. So it means that Blue is still with the male.”

Shadow and Alden nodded, joining Kilo and walking around to see if they could still get a scent.

When all failed, Kilo tailed wagged side to side in frustration. Alden noticed, shaking his head. “Someone must have hid the scent, because I can’t smell it anymore.”
Shadow agreed, slowly starting to show that she’s getting frustrated and confused.

Kilo kept walking around, ready to call Blue’s name to see if she was around the area, before something hit him. He was startled, falling to the dirt, letting out a surprised yell.

“Kilo!?” Shadow said, noticing her brother fall. She and Alden ran to him, only to be hit by another two pebbles. Both of the yelped in surprise.

Kilo grunted, teeth baring and growl coming out of his throat. He quickly stood up, looking around. Could it be the crazy smelled velociraptor?

“Come out! Where are you!” Kilo screeched, before being hit by a rainfall of pebbles. He, Shadow, and Alden all yelped, trying to escape the rainfall. Allen looked up, to see a nest in the oak tree next to them. There, with the colors of a toucan. It was Dimorphodon, with a grumpy look on its face. Holding it becks with pebbles, it spit out each on of them with incredible speed.

Alden was able to escape its shooting, unluckily with Kilo and Shadow earning a few more hits. He screeched at the Dimorphodon, trying to catch it’s attention.

The Dimorphodon stopped, before spitting out its last pebble, hitting Alden at his forehead.

“Hey! What in the world are you doing?!” Alden screeched.

“GET OFF MY YARD!!” The Dimorphodon screeched. Alden cocked his head, confused. His yard?

Kilo finally stood up, aching pain from his head. He whipped his head to the Dimorphodon. “Your yard?? Whats a yard? And why are you hitting us!?”

The Dimorphodon growled. “A yard is my own territory! AND YOUR IN IT!!”

“ENOUGH!!” Shadow screeched. Putting herself between Kilo and Alden. The Dimorphodon huffed, before flying down to the dirt ground. Using its wings, it began to dust, making the dirt fly around it.

Kilo noticed this, and realized what it was doing. It was cleaning their tracks! Kilo ran to it growling. The Dimorphodon noticed this, grabbed the nearest rock and flew to the nearest highest branch. He raised the rather bulky and heavy rock, looking down at Kilo.

“Don’t. You. Dare.” Kilo growled.

“Or what, Dingo? Kill me and become the next lunch meal?”

“I’ll be considerate.”

The Dimorphodon huffed. Shadow rushed to Kilo side, looking up to the winged creature.

“Why are you covering the tracks? We are looking for one of us, she disappeared this morning hasn’t come back.”

Dimorphodon hmphed. “Don’t care, not my problem. Beside, I like my yard clean. I had to clean it up all afternoon after a group of humans came bargaining into it, along with two crazy velociraptors!”

The trio raised their heads in interest. “Do you know how they looked like?” Alden asked. “Please, if you helps us, we’re willing to give you a reward.”

Dimorphodon seem to think for a moment, tapping his wings against its head. “Eh, I trying to think…”

They four stayed quieted for quite a long time, but already Kilo was starting to feel impatient. One of his death claw was starting to impatiently tap on the floor. Alden closed his eyes in order not to show his frustration within. Shadow started fidgeting in place, her tail swishing back and forth. The Dimorphodon still tapping on his head, its tongue outside of its beck.

They stilled for what felt like forever before Kilo finally gave up on being patient.

“UGH!! WELL?!” Kilo shouted, startling Alden, Shadow, and the Dimorphodon.

“Geezus! Hold your compys!” Dimorphodon grunted. Kilo growled before using his death claw to flick a pebble upward, hitting the Dimorphodon. The Dimorphodon fell straight to the ground.

“KILO!” Shadow gasped, rushing towards the Dimphordon to aid him. Kilo froze in shock and Alden immediately laughed.

“WELP! He’s dead! Oh my, that was hilarious!” Alden laughed. Kilo glared at him.

The Dimorphodon suddenly shot up from the ground, scaring Shadow. “Oh! I remember now!”

“Yes, yes. Two velociraptors. One was gray with a blue streak, and the other was a creamed color velociraptor with crazy red feathers. And also had a this distinct smell like he’d been sprayed by a thousands skunks!”

The trio of velociraptors raised their head in eagerness. “Gray with a blue streak? That has to be Blue!”

Kilo frowned. “Then the creamed color one has to be the male velociraptor.” Kilo thought for a moment, trying to picture the velociraptor. “What else do you remember?”

“Eh… the male one kept calling the other sister, so I think they’re siblings…?”

Kilo blinked. Blue had sibling? Well duh, some velociraptors has a sibling. So it obvious that Blue has one or two.

Now that he thinks about it, Kilo really knows nothing about Blue’s past. No one in the pack even mentioned it to her. Not even Blue had talked about her family or close friends. Was Blue truly been that alone?

If the creamed color velociraptor was her sibling, perhaps she had reunited with him and catching up what she missed? Yeah… that seemed about right…

Kilo could feel the heavy pit of his stomach start to slowly perish away and Kilo could feel his worry lowering.

“Do you know where they went?” Alden questioned, grabbing the Dimorphodon attention.

“Nope! I was- uh- hiding from the humans. The probably went somewhere else. Perhaps to the beach or somethin?”

Kilo suspiciously looked at the Dimorphodon, noticing ‘uh’ in his sentence. But Shadow and Alden bought it, nodding in agreement. Kilo sighed before looking up at the sky. The sun was already gone and only the twilight sprinkled across the sky. Kilo sighed, before mentioning Shadow and Alden to return back to the cave.

They only taken a few steps before the Dimorphodon went yelling to them.

“H-HEY! WHERE’S MY AWARD!”

Kilo growled before turning around and shot the Dimorphodon a glare. “MY TIME AND PATIENCE IS THE MOST REWARDING THING ONE WILL GET FROM ME!!” Before turning around, a giggling Shadow and Alden following him.

“OH! OOOOOH! FINE! GO AND MESS WITH SOMEONE’s ELSE YARD! YOU ONE EYED FREAK!” The shouts of the Dimorphodon faded into the forest as Kilo Shadow, and Alden went back to the waterfall pack.

“So… Blue, ya know, has a sibling. That’s surprising.” Shadow recalled.

“I realized that we know nothing about Blue. So it’s not much of a suprise that Blue has siblings. However, the color difference is. Unless this male velociraptor is a albino like me, then there’s still a chance that they’re brother and sister.” Alden added his own thoughts into the conversation.

Kilo also come up with the same conclusion, nodding in agreement. “It is late now, the human’s are still around. Its best that we return back to the pack. We’ll continue our search tomorrow.”

The trio went down the path that lead them back to the waterfall cave.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Dimorphodon grumbled as he flew back to his nest before talking to the bush next to him.
“Alright Grenade, they’re gone. You can finally get out now.”
In the twilight, golden-orange cat-eyes flashed in the dark before a large male velociraptor, who was only about a foot taller than Kilo finally left the bush, shaking off the leaves.
His dark gray body with a green streak going down from his neck to his the end of his tail was dark enough to hide him in the shadows, which he was thankful for as none of the velociraptors had noticed him hiding into the bush. He was a little worried they would noticed his brown feathers, but luckily they didn’t.
He softly chuffed as he muttered to himself. “Oh Ramsey, what did you do this time?”
He was about to walk away before he hear an “Ahem.” He turned around to see the Dimorphodon frowns.
“Oi! I helped you, now you helped me! Now start cleaning the rest of my yard!”
Grenade grumbled. This was going to take him all night.
Thats great!
I'm thinking of changing Bingo a bit. Ya know, different color and size. I want Bingo to be a little different than the Indoraptor from the movie.
